+CacheFreakTim
Has anyone seen Microsoft Bing's new treasure map feature on the site? Seems like its a perfect fit for Geocaching! http://gizmodo.com/5555618/new-bing-maps-c...-a-treasure-map Quote Link to comment
+scorpio_dark
That could be useful and alot of fun -especially depending on how little information you can choose to include. Thanks for pointing it out. Quote Link to comment

+geodarts
Great! My most recent cache is a letterbox search for pirate treasure. I can replace my clumsy map with this. Thanks for pointing it out. Quote Link to comment
drewmm
I feel this strong urge to actually appreciate something created by Microsoft. Must resist...must resist... Quote Link to comment
+Vater_Araignee
I feel this strong urge to actually appreciate something created by Microsoft. Must resist...must resist... Don't go appreciating yet, there is less data than googlemaps. For example they don't have any of Michigan's linear state parks on the map. I'm positive there is missing data everywhere. I also tried entering coords and it didn't work, had to put in an address and drag a flag around. Plus there is probably a way for a hacker to walk right into you computer by exploiting a flaw in bing maps as is the norm for TinySofty. ~~~ADD~~~ Still looks cool tho. +DragonsWest
Looks kinda neat, but the Interstate markers sorta spoil the effect. Maybe more suited to locations away from roads which prompt those sort of labels. Quote Link to comment

JohnX
The treasure maps are a very cool feature. Nicely done. I would like to to plant a few in my neighborhood for kids to find but I don't want to come off like some Boo Radley type. Quote Link to comment
+MightyReek
That's just great. We want it for Europe too!!!! Please! Quote Link to comment

I can see, however, that a smaller area would require fewer data points to be downloaded. Its almost an hour after the post that you quoted, and its still going! Not sure what the numbers refer to, but its now at 6300! I suspect I did grab too large an area. Quote Link to comment

You need to be on the Bing "Discover" maps, and not just on the Bing maps that a cache page will bring you to. Use this link, and follow the directions on the lefthand side. Quote Link to comment
