ashnikes
when you look as a group do you let the person who actually spotted the find get the find, or do you all take credit for it? if you all take credit for it, do you all sign the log, off and online? do you use a common name for your team? +Vater_Araignee
unfortunately everyone can take creds. If they want. Quote Link to comment
+buttaskotch
I think this topic has been speculated on maybe once or twice before Do you cache with a group? What is your opinion? Do you really care? Maybe read some of the older threads, many of the answers you seek can be found there. Yawn. Quote Link to comment
+briansnat
You're all part of the team that found the cache, regardless of who actually found it, so the general consensus is that the entire team gets credit. The way an entire sports team gets the win, regardless of who scores the goal. If you don't feel good about that, then you can do what many groups do. As each person spots the cache, he walks away then announces that he knows where it is. This continues until everyone finds the cache on his own. Some people prefer to do it this way. Others will simply gather to sigh the log when one person uncovers it. Both ways are widely accepted by the geocaching community. Quote Link to comment
Wezal69
Caching with a group or a friend is great fun. I take my son along. We both get credit for the find but the finder gets to sign the log first. I think a lot of it just depends on what the group feels like doing. Quote Link to comment
+cw1710
If you are referring to first to find then you can either let the one finder claim it or it can be a group co-ftf. Other than that, why would everyone in the group not log the find? We cache in small groups all the time over here. Quote Link to comment
+JL_HSTRE
Sometimes I cache solo, sometimes I cache with as many as 3 other friends all of whom now have geocaching.com usernames. Whenever the find is made, everyone gets the credit. Usually over the course of several hours of everyone in the ground will be responsible for at least a couple caches. Group caching decreases DNFs, decreases find time, and is just general good fun with friends. Quote Link to comment
+wimseyguy
You have an account at geocaching.com. You found a cache, your name is in the log book. Why wouldn't you log it as a find? Quote Link to comment
+Harry Dolphin
Part of the problem here is that "You've been ashnikesed" does not flow trippingly off the tongue. Quote Link to comment
GOF and Bacall
I always sign the log book when I find a cache. Sometimes I find it in another cachers hand. Got a problem with that? Then go ahead and delete my smilie. Quote Link to comment
