+brodiebunch Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 Since the most recent update the website, it seems that attributes have disappeared on some caches when I have gone back to them to read postings, etc? Anyone else noticed that?
+t4e Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 not really, i haven't come across any that are missing attributes
GermanSailor Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 Since the most recent update the website, it seems that attributes have disappeared on some caches when I have gone back to them to read postings, etc? Anyone else noticed that? No, everything fine here as well. GermanSailor
+Chrysalides Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 I could only remember on my own caches, and they look fine.
+McAdies Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 Yep we noticed the lack of attributes as well
AZcachemeister Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 I noticed this on about day three after the last update, and mentioned it in the 'complaint' thread. I can see them on my own caches, but not on anyone else's.
+t4e Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 I noticed this on about day three after the last update, and mentioned it in the 'complaint' thread. I can see them on my own caches, but not on anyone else's. so you are saying that except for yours, none of the other caches have attributes?
+McAdies Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 I noticed this on about day three after the last update, and mentioned it in the 'complaint' thread. I can see them on my own caches, but not on anyone else's. so you are saying that except for yours, none of the other caches have attributes? Yes this is the case for us too
+Chrysalides Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 (edited) I picked a few caches at random, old and new. Most of them have attributes. I looked through the last 6 finds by McAdies. The most recent has no attributes. The other 5 all have attributes. Not sure what's the problem. Edited February 9, 2010 by Chrysalides
+Gushoneybun Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 I think that the new yellow sign showing that there are no attributes is more obvious so your eye is drawn to it. I have not noticed attributes disappearing from caches, I think some just never had them. It is a shame that so many new caches are reviewed and published without any
AZcachemeister Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 I noticed this on about day three after the last update, and mentioned it in the 'complaint' thread. I can see them on my own caches, but not on anyone else's. so you are saying that except for yours, none of the other caches have attributes? Yes, exactly. My caches have attributes, but nobody else's do. Well actually, I'm sure they have them as well, but I can't see what they are.
+Chrysalides Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 Yes, exactly. My caches have attributes, but nobody else's do. Well actually, I'm sure they have them as well, but I can't see what they are. Do you see any attributes in this one? http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?wp=GC20 I see thorns, kid, boat and dog.

You may be right in that people are just not putting them in when they publish the cache.
stebu Posted February 11, 2010 Posted February 11, 2010 Well, I checked 10 random caches and all had the same attributes as before the update. But there is a new warning, maybe that's caused one to notice missing attributes more frequently? Check e.g. visit listing
AZcachemeister Posted February 13, 2010 Posted February 13, 2010 Yes, exactly. My caches have attributes, but nobody else's do. Do you see any attributes in this one? http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?wp=GC20 I see thorns, kid, boat and dog. Yes, I see those! So perhaps there is just a new wave of cachers in my area who are not using attributes? It's not the warning sign, that's been around quite a while.
