+BrrrMo Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 I give up!! What does 'PI' mean??? Where did you see it? As my Home Schooled daughter, 11 Yrs, taught me this winter, context clues can help. Quote
+briansnat Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 Usually in a geocaching context it means poison ivy. Quote
+RonnieGeo Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 Polar Instability. It refers to a lowered state of reliability of magnetic compasses - due to the gradual shifting of the poles (North and South). It generally will not affect Geocachers as we mostly rely on our GPS receivers (GPS receivers are notably immune to P.I.). Many conspiracy theorists feel that it is the GPS receiver manufacturers that are causing P.I. via electro-magnetic pulse emissions; however, unlike the Selective Availability scandal... there is no truth to that rumor. Of course not. Everyone knows it's the experiments with the captured UFO that's causing it. Anyway, since we still have no context... http://acronyms.thefreedictionary.com/PI Quote
