HTML Codes Changing

Recommended Posts

I am trying add some www.geocheck.org links to some of my puzzle caches and once I make the changes the HTML code will change into something odd and it will start to look strange and the links won't work any more. I removed them form my caches so I don't have an example but does anyone else have this problem.

It is cutting off the first < and changing the > into &al; or something similar.

Everything seems to be working again now B)

Oh well...

No, it still does not work. I removed the problem from my cache page so you won't see anything wrong if you look at the ones I was describing. For whatever reason it strips off html codes and leaves the link as a line of text instead of a link.

I have been trying for a couple hours now only to realize they completely borked the limited html support they had. A basic link is not working.

Sorry for the double post. Forums are borked too and generated a PHP SQL error the first time.

As of 17 Feb. @ 2200 PST, the <a href=...> and </a> are still being stripped out of my hyperlinks, except for what is between the quotations and the final > is being replaced with it's code &gt . To some of you this might be only a minor inconvenience, but when you have as many caches as I do, this is a big headache! Until the problem is fixed, I will leave things just as they are and to the embarassment of GS's new system. However, my greatest concern is that maybe they want to remove all external hyperlink functions from within cache pages and leaving only image linking. That would not surprize me.

UPDATE: 2230 PST: I just checked one of my caches, the same one I checked before, and noticed that the cache is now displaying properly. Are there ghostly code-bugs running around GS's system or what?

There is another problem that I have noticed. The following lines do not display on my cache page as they do using my CSE HTML Validator v7.0 program:

<fieldset style="border-color: #FFFFFF;">

<legend style="filter: progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.Shadow(color=white,direction=145);">

<font face="UNICORN, COMIC SANS MS, ARIAL, TIMES" size="6" color="#FF0000"><b> ABOUT THIS CACHE: </b></font>

</legend>

The "ABOUT..." is the correct red color, but it's placed onto only a white background(suppose to be a drop-shadow) for only the space the words occupy.

Any code freeks out there want to venture a guess?

Yup, Grounspeak has a serious bug to hanlde just now. See GC1MTEE for an exsample of the messup right now.

Also check the print friendly version. Also messed up. No long description.

IE7.

Older pages seems Ok though.

Ps. The printfriendly seemed to be fixed as i wrote this post, but the A HREF is still not working.

You're right. It's like it's in some foreign language, or something. Other than that, everything looks fine. :D

No, it's not a foreign language. For me it isn't. :)

The A HREF tag var stripped for a few hours, but is fine now. My thought was to give an example on what was not functioning. Then there is a chance they can fix it. Not easy to fix something that you don't know is broken.
