normis Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 Hi forumers! In some cache container store I found a nano container that has this in the description: This tiny cache can usually be found adorning the neck of dogs around the country I wonder, how would this work? Anyone have some example caches like this? You attach the nano to a wandering cat, and then it just goes away ? Quote
+BlueDeuce Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 Moving caches are no longer allowed. You should consider using a travel bug instead. Quote

Anyone have some example caches like this? You attach the nano to a wandering cat, and then it just goes away ? Some nano caches start life as containers intended to store pet owner information that you attach to a pet collar. Moving caches are not allowed but moving caches with specific limits to their movements can be worked out with your local reviewer. A pet confined to a location is possible. The location could be a petting zoo, a yard or something that has defined limits. Quote
+nameless301 Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 When I first read the title I though you meant like an ammo box tied to a dog or something, but I understand a little better. I have seen those devices but I believe they are meant mainly for storing pet info but most nanos if not bison tubes are made from other things. Quote

No, ammo cans should not be used on anything smaller than a llama. Lock n locks work well on dogs. Nanos can be used on anything down to the size of a mouse. Of course, the animal must not move more than 528 feet from the posted coordinates without approval of your local reviewer. Quote
+BlueDeuce Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 (edited) Of course, the animal must not move more than 528 feet from the posted coordinates without approval of your local reviewer. I have a couple 5/5 cache animals that would probably meet the distance guidelines. Edited September 23, 2008 by BlueDeuce Quote
+art_find Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 I think it would be fun to watch you place that cache! Quote

+webscouter. Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 I remember one cache that was attached to a sheep, or llama or cow that would come when you called. Might have been a horse, I just can't remember what kind of animal it was. Quote
+hairball45 Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 Hmm. Maybe on that gift horse. Now where is he........ Quote

+art_find Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 Your cat looks just like mine! Only the ball would be in pieces and the hammy digested. Ick. Quote

+Ambrosia Posted September 30, 2008 Posted September 30, 2008 (edited) I remember one cache that was attached to a sheep, or llama or cow that would come when you called. Might have been a horse, I just can't remember what kind of animal it was. Perhaps the cache you are referring to was Baby Talk. It was a multi, at the first coords were a can of grains by the side of a fence. If you rattled the oats and called "Baby", the llamas came over. One of them had the coords on a small board around her neck. If you look at the gallery, you can see what I mean. I uploaded the pics after the cache was archived. I figured the cache was well known enough, that people would like to see the spoiler pics. Edited September 30, 2008 by Ambrosia Quote

I like the dog tag idea better. Very creative though! Quote
