  1. You can't delete caches inside the unit. You have to connect it to a computer, delete the GPX file which contains the caches, and replace it with a new one.
  2. Not really sure if this is related to the beta, or I have a bad unit: - accuracy problems under trees, inside car, or nearby buildings (2-4 stories are enough!). Drops from 3m to 20m once I enter the car. Drops from 3m to 23m when going onto a street with houses. WAAS/EGNOS is on - crashes at different times. simply freezes when I am opening a cache description (not always, like once per 20 caches) or when simply scrolling through logs
  3. grrrrr and a year has passed without any fixes for comments in non-english languages. Groundspeak! the comments you already store in UTF8 (because when they arrive over email, they are fine), so why is it so hard to display UTF8 characters also in the cache description and comments on the website ? Is USA really the only country where GC is played? Finally look at your statistics to see you are wrong!
  4. I can't have fun caching when the map is full of these "fake" caches. Whenever a cache appears, everyone has to check if this is not one of the trash-caches. If he goes on like this, we will have to make custom filters in GPX file to remove this joker, and this will be a waste of time just because of one person. EDIT: I see that you defend everything that is lame. This explains your post
  5. We have one new member in our city that just registered, and started by submitting caches (not searching). his caches are mostly commented as "garbage" and worse words. he usually puts some stuff in a plastic bag, and drops it on the ground in the grass. He has no idea about any rules, or just plain common sense. Then he goes on destroying other caches (logged visit, next finder only collected remains of the box). Several members have attempted to contact this user, but no response. What could be done in such situation? He keeps publishing new caches, and all of them are really bad! It's not just me who thinks they are, 99% of comments are strong criticism
  6. I'm not talking about easter eggs or something like that. I'm talking about a wet plastic bag with a logbook, dropped on the ground with no specific idea behind it, and no one maintaining it. Somebody just registered, and immediately submitted 5 such caches in my area. What should I do in this case? Everyone is angry in the comments, this just ruins all the GC experience. Rules? How about guidelines sections for "Permanence", "Maintenance", "Contents" and "Container Types"? Generally I think that if nearly all comments on a cache are negative, this means that cache is bad. Of course one could just read the comments, and there would be no need for rating, but I think it would be nice that one could filter by rating (don't show caches with rating lower than 1*).
  7. to those saying "subjective" - well how about those caches that are just plastic bag in a patch of grass? we have those, for some reason they get published, although they break every rule imaginable. how about a "report trash cache" possibility? +1 for "Cheeseheads", I like the idea. Or like Digg comment system - click on either plus or minus, and in the end you are given a result "432" for example. This doesn't say how many people voted for, or against. Just the final rating.
  8. Hi forumers! In some cache container store I found a nano container that has this in the description: I wonder, how would this work? Anyone have some example caches like this? You attach the nano to a wandering cat, and then it just goes away ?
