+grp318
How many of you discover your own coins? Can this be done? If so, what is everyone take on this? Quote Link to comment
+Moobeat
I don't. Would be nice to have the little icon on my page, but I'd rather find someone else with the same coins as me Quote Link to comment
+TeamEccs21
Once you activate the coin you get the Icon as owner. I don't believe you can do both, own a coin and get a discovered icon. Quote Link to comment
+fairyhoney
No, You can't discover your own coins. Quote Link to comment
+ElliPirelli
As I never got the icon on the moved/discovered side, when I retrieve my coins from an event, I guess it's not possible. Would be stupid anyway, I have the icons of my coins on the owner side! Kind regards, ElliPirelli Quote Link to comment
+Kealia
No, You can't discover your own coins. Actually, you can. I just tried this to see if it would work. I logged a DISCOVERED IT on one of my coins, got the email notificaiton as the owner, but don't immediately see the icon on my profile under "trackables moved/discovered". I don't know if there's a latency involved in getting the icon, but I wouldn't think so. In any case, I guess the question is "why would you want to?" Quote Link to comment
+Shop99er
No, You can't discover your own coins. In any case, I guess the question is "why would you want to?" I was wondering that, too. Quote Link to comment
+ComputerCacheBug
No, You can't discover your own coins. In any case, I guess the question is "why would you want to?" I was wondering that, too. Because its all about the numbers and pretty pixel icons on your screen. Quote Link to comment
+MustangJoni
I've never attempted to discover my coins, and probably never will. What I find weird is that I adopted a coin that I had previously discovered, and lost the icon on the side for discoveries. It didn't bother me, because now it is on the owned side! +Butterfly_lady
If I meet up with my travelling geocoins, I may write a quick note that it's good to see it there, etc..... But I don't discover, unless I slip a cog on the log.... so to speak. Always fun to open a cache and see one of my coins. Sometimes I will retrieve it and move it on, if it is in a seldom visited cache, or been there far too long. And I even take them home for mission repair - they all have a mission card in the other flap of the coin flip flop envelope, so that those who find them don't have to wait till logging them to see the mission. +Six Little Spookies
The discovery option would be available in cases that Butterfly Lady mentioned: you find your own coins somewhere. The only reason I could see to use it though is to confirm for others that the coin is indeed in the cache. The icons for your owned coins will not show up on your moved/discovered side. You do get an email when you move/discover them though, because you are owner of the coin/TB. Quote Link to comment
+grodan & fiabus
Discover your own coins would be as big no-no as logging own caches as found. Nothing you should do. When I pick up my own trackables I logg them as write note. If I want the icon on found/discovered side also i have to find one with another owner. grodan Quote Link to comment
+ElliPirelli
When I pick up my own trackables I logg them as write note. If you log them with a note, how will they come into your inventory? You'd have to retrieve them from the cache... Kind regards, ElliPirelli Quote Link to comment
ljay
I guess if i found it at an event or in a cache i would maybe grab it back to show on the logs that it had come full circle. To me it would be more of a note against the bug as record. Don't think i would think to use the discover option. As said on the icon side, if i want the icon on both sides i'll find someone elses coin and move it along on it's mission. Quote Link to comment

+Kealia
All should be good in the world. It doesn't appear that logging a discovered gives you an icon. Nothing to see here....move along. Quote Link to comment

No extra stat for the owner or for finders logging it twice. Quote Link to comment
