+AtlantaGal
First of all what coin is it? They're activated in different ways. Quote Link to comment
+Chaos A.D./aka Arlsdaddy
Hope you are talking about a coin with a trackable number on it already. Just getting any 'ol coin to activate can be quite spendy. (Hey, I got a silver dollar I'll sell for $1501!!) Quote Link to comment
+oldnavy59
Its a compass rose coin, guess I should have said that the first go around says to activate on Groundspeak.com and is it in good taste to log your coins in and out of caches? Quote Link to comment
SlytherinAlex
First of all what coin is it? They're activated in different ways. Just a wild guess, but I'm prepared to wager that it's an EU geocoin. Alex. (Whoops..... wrong again) Edited October 23, 2005 by SlytherinAlex Quote Link to comment
+oldnavy59
nope a Compass rose coin but we just got our EU coin and might activate one of them Quote Link to comment
+AtlantaGal
For compass rose: You go to the travel bug page on gc.com Click on the link to activate a travel bug. Enter in the coin number and the activation code that's on the coin case sticker. Follow on screen prompts for naming coin, goals, etc. Edited October 23, 2005 by AtlantaGal Quote Link to comment
+oldnavy59
Thank you worked like a champ, do all trackable coins work like this. Do you activate coins that you are going to keep? I could see the reason not to if you are going to trade. Quote Link to comment

And others you have to go to geocoinclub.com and request an activation code. Then there are coins that are trackable, but not on gc.com. That's why I asked what coin you were wanting to activate. +Big JohnP
I'm trying to activate a Tennessee coin. Do I have to go to a special site to retreive a number or do I just activate it on GC.com with the numbers on the sleeve? Thanks Quote Link to comment

+pdxmarathonman
Can you unactivate a coin? No Caches can be adopted. I wonder if TB/Geocoins can be adopted. That way a non-travelled coin could have ownership transferred to make the new recipient the owner. I have no idea what the demand for this might be... Quote Link to comment

I just don't think GS will DO it. I know that gc.com can transfer the ownership of a geocoin, because I did it. A friend of mine did a trade for a New Jersey coin and the person that sent it had already activated it. However, they notified gc.com and they transferred the ownership of the coin to them. When I heard that, I had 3 coins that I activated right after my wife had been checking things. So I was signed in as her. So I emailed gc.com with the information from the coins and they transferred the ownership of the coins from my wife to me. Works great. And they did it real fast, too. Quote Link to comment

+Mauison
Ok how do i activat the mountain bike and new mexico coins? The Moun10Bike coin is already activated and shows Moun10Bike as the owner. I haven't gotten my NM coins yet so I'm not sure about those. Have you tried going through the geocoinclub activation page? Quote Link to comment
