What is a geocoin??

The Canadian GeoCoins are fantastic. Shiny and detailed. They are the same size as the US silver dollar. I went to a coin shop and picked up hard plastic dollar holders to put them in befor placing them in a cache. The instructions I printed on a label to fit around the edge of the holder, which will keep it closed.

What a good idea. Mine came yesterday. Almost too nice to put in a cache! Have to keep one just for me I suppose.

If they could get the price of geocoins down to about a buck depending on metal type, it would abe about the perfect trade item.

The new coins are beautiful, but my four year old, who has one of Moun10bikes coins claims that only the beautiful ones with color are REAL treasure...so no matter what anyone else comes out with I think Moun10bikes coins will always be worth a bit more than the rest

FYI: The polished brass blanks cost $2 a piece. That is, just a smooth piece of round metal. I may be able to pull to together some aluminum filings from under my lathe for you for a dollar. Where should I mail them?
