Event cache denied in Washington by a Canadian reviewer?
MrGigabyte replied to MrGigabyte's topic in Northwest
Thank you for your detailed explanation. Your mapping tools need to be updated though. The location is in the USA. The border is NOT at the 49 degrees north. It is 49 00.130 due to a surveying error by the International Boundary commission 150 years ago. That is about 800 feet south. There are a series of huge monuments that span this bay demarcating the international boundary.. I have to pass through US iImmigration and Customs to reach N49º. -
Event cache denied in Washington by a Canadian reviewer?
MrGigabyte replied to MrGigabyte's topic in Northwest
Why did the reviewer change my submission to Canada from the USA? He/she edited my submission, changing countries, then siting a local BC (Canada) guideline for the denial. Since when to do reviewers arbitrarily change submission countries? -
Event cache denied in Washington by a Canadian reviewer?
MrGigabyte replied to MrGigabyte's topic in Northwest
The cache was submitted on June 5 in the USA. Denied on June 6 by a reviewer in Canada, but the location was changed to British Columbia by the reviewer. He/She changed the location that I had entered in the submission from the USA to Canada. -

I am curious as to how a Canadian reviewer can deny my event that is in a different country. My cache is ie Washington State, USA. The reviewer is is in canada sitting some BC (British Columbia, Canada) local event stacking rule. Just so we are clear, the Event is in the USA. I live in Canada, 5 minutes from the event location in the US. Hello MrGigabyte, Unfortunately, your event is too close to another event that was just published. Due to the BC Event Stacking guidelines, your event cannot be published at this time or place. I am temporarily disabling your cache so you can decide how to proceed with it. Before you resubmit your cache for review, please make sure to answer any questions I asked, or add any other comments you might have. The more detail you provide, the quicker your caches get reviewed. When you’re ready for me to review the cache again please click the Submit for Review button. Otherwise, I won't see it again. Thank you for your cooperation. How do you include a video link in the Description section of an AL? Each stage has a YouTube form input element, but not the Description. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Clicking on my Souvenir "Mystery at the Museum: Briefed on the case", results in a 500 Server error. Is that part of the clue? -
Canada Day Special - July 1, 2016 On July 1, 2016, Canada celebrates its 149th Birthday. 2016 also marks the 14th anniversary of Canadian Geocaching Geocoins. We were the first commercially available geocoin and those coins rolled out of the mint and into the hands of cachers worldwide, in March 2002. In recognition of Canada Day and our 14th anniversary, we would like to offer the following special on Canadian Geocaching Geocoins, which of course, are trackable on geocaching.com. For every 2 coins ordered on July 1, 2016 (PDT), we will include a 3rd coin for FREE. This is a one day only offer. When ordering online, the order form will not mention the additional free coins, nor will the paid invoice. For every 2 coins on the order, we will have our geomonkies drop another coin in the package. If you have any questions, please email me directly. Happy Canada Day. Canadian Geocaching Geocoins

Model: GPSmap62s Software version: 4.80 Here is an interesting new feature I just discovered. The only requirement is that you have a geocache loaded in the device that is very close to your current location, as the feature is proximity based. If you don't have a nearby cache, just create one in GSAK or edit the waypoint coords in a GPX file, and use your current location for the position values. Find > Geocaches Select nearby cache. (needs to be very close, within 30m) Go Direct Routing Page > Compass Found Verify Find Device immediately shuts off. If you receive a note that you must be at the location of the geocache to verify the find, then you were not close enough to see this new feature in action. Thanks Garmin for one more way to crash this thing!

Can't believe it is Canada's 140th birthday on Sunday. Seems like only 40 years ago we celebrated a centennial! :-) To help celebrate, we are offering a Canada Day Special on Canadian Geocoins. For more info, please see this thread in the GC geocoin forum. Happy Canada Day

Coins are shipped from Vancouver, BC, via Canada Post. Yes, we ship worldwide. The cost for shipping is the same, regardless of destination. Although that is likely to change in the future, for the moment, we absorb the additional cost of shipping to Europe. BTW: They are cheaper by the kilo! :-)

Can anyone recommend a hotel in or around Marysville? I have checked the reviews of many of them (at tripadvisor etc) and most of the reviews say you would be better off sleeping in your car than staying in the local hotels. Looking for a place with a pool and wireless. If they have wireless at the pool, so much the better! :-) :-) Any suggestions other than sleeping in my car? -MrG
