+vespax
Has anyone noticed that their compass arrow disappears during caching? Mine just seemed to start doing that while I was in Guatemala. I kept having to restart the unit to get it make for a minute before it would disappear. I came home and updated the software but that hasn't seemed to fix the problem. Anyone have some ideas on how to fix this. It is one of the most used features of my unit and really quite annoying while caching through unknown areas. Thanks. Quote Link to comment
+wickedsprint
That is odd, mine never dissapeared, only wandered a bit in heay tree cover, both in my 60C and 76C which are essentially the same brain. Quote Link to comment
+Still Searching
I just had to deal with this issue a couple of weeks ago. Every time the unit was moving slow (walking instead of moving in the vehicle) the pointer would disappear. All that was needed to correct this was a proper compass calibration. Quote Link to comment
+vespax
Still Searching. By proper calibration do you mean when you turn in a circle twice to set it? I think I did that first off but will need to try it tonight since I haven't done it since updating software. Thanks. Quote Link to comment
+webscouter.
I have seen mine do that several times. I believe this happens when two conditions exist. 1st you have the internal compass turned off. 2nd you have lost the satellite signal and the unit no longer knows which way you are traveling. +vespax
Every battery change? I didn't even think of having to do that. Strange but will do from now on. Thanks. Quote Link to comment

+Sevateem
I have noticed I have to re-calibrate the compass in my 60CS quite often. Even with out changing batterys, it messes up and needs re-caibrated. Doesn't take long. Quote Link to comment

Neither is the case when it happens to me. Edited May 17, 2005 by briansnat Quote Link to comment
