notec
What exactly does it mean???? I tried to put some on my Legend from Mapsource but It doesnt look any different. I even made sure that they were checked. The roads I see on my laptop dont show on the GPS.I would really appreciate any help from fellow Legend owners. +Alan2
Street details won't show until you zoom down. If that does not work, check your settings in the Map setup page and make sure it's set for Normal details. Which Mapsource do you have. Streets and Recreation or Metroguide? +briansnat
...or topo? Either way, you should notice significant difference if the maps loaded properly. +VE6NS
Make sure that you Highlight the map section you want to upload to your handheld Do Unto Others Before They Have A Chance To Do Unto You! Quote Link to comment
notec
I did that but it still looks the same as what is factory on my GPS. If it doesn't hurt your not doing it right Quote Link to comment
notec
I have Mapsource 5.3 with Canada enhanced basemap, metro guide, road and recreation and world map. Does this help any??? If it doesn't hurt your not doing it right Quote Link to comment
+Spange & Crew
Just to verify that the map you are viewing is a Mapsource and not the base map. It should say "Mapsource" in the lower right corner just below the scale bar on the Legend I believe. "It's not rocket surgery...!" Quote Link to comment
+EraSeek
There should be a selection in your unit somewhere in the setup to turn on and off both the base map and Mapsource. Make sure that is on. "See the wonderous works of Providence! The uncertainty of human things!" Geo.Washington Quote Link to comment

+Wildgoose
I have a related question. After a map is loaded into the Legend, can it be deleted later? "No matter where you go, there you are." Quote Link to comment
+FarSideX
Wildgoose: Just before Mapsource sends maps to a GPSr it sends a command that clears ALL non-factory maps from memory. If you want to remove just one map from the unit it deletes them all, then it resends all the maps you didn't want to delete. At least that was the way it did it when I was figuring out the map transfer protocol for a project I am working on, it may be different now but I doubt it. Maps will first be deleted before new maps are uploaded. The memory used is only for maps. You're not using up memory that could be used elsewhere by having maps loaded. "Don't mess with a geocacher.
