Caching From The Lower 47 To The Event On Sat.

I'm headed Northbound at 7:30 AM from Burien. Can go as early as needed because wife is at a Girl Scout thing overnight. Will have duckboat in tow and a canoe and Black Lab on board. Can fit a couple people but the back seat is tight. (Older Chev. ext cab.) (Wife has the Suburban this weekend for GS.) Will need to head back south around 3-4 PM.

I was at the park today with my kayak to fine-tune the two boat-access caches -- launching at the park requires either carrying your boat down about 10 stairs or along a pathway of 150 ft. or so to get to the water.

If you're bringing a boat on a trailer, you'll need to launch it at the public launch ramp that's about a mile away from the park. Coordinates for the ramp are N48 40.027 W122 22.553

I'm waiting to hear back from LittleBlue on her plans (family outing or single adventurer).

But there is another thing to consider, this thing is supposedly going from 10am til 9pm. A very long time. And what exactly is planned, we don't really know.

So, how long does everyone want to 'play'? And is the new night cache some want to go for? (silly question, I know  )

I'm pretty much up for whatever. I just hate planning for others.

People are welcome to come anytime and leave anytime -- since the facility rental was for the whole day, I thought I'd just post it as an all-day thing. Some people are only coming for the late afternoon or around dinnertime. Just plan to drop in and stay as long as you like.

There are also a tonne of caches in the Fairhaven area of Bellingham area which is only another 10 minutes north for those that haven't cached up that way. Do a PQ on zip code 98225...

Is there a more "formal" part of the day that some may be interested in? Something like the "official welcome into the WSGA" meeting or anything?

How about food? All day or only 11-1?

Sorry, but there's really not enough information for planning, IMHO.

There is no formal ceremony involved, unless Right Wing Wacko would like to get up on the table and make a speech  I did get a couple of Costco cakes decorated with the gc colours, but that's the extent of the formalities.

This event is strictly a good excuse to get people together for a fun day at a nice park to do some caching, talk about caching, have something to eat, and meet up with cachers from around the area.

I'm planning to have the barbecue going all day from about 11:30 till 7:30 or so, if people want to grill something they can, I'm sure there will be lots of potluck items, and you can have lunch, dinner, or just snack on stuff.

If people are busy but want to just drop by for a little while, great! If you want to stay all day, great! I didn't plan to do any organized games or activities, other than the new caches I put around the park.

I hope people weren't expecting a formal agenda for the day

Well, RWW on a table would be a sight to see, but I digress...

I don't know what others were expecting, but I had no clue what was happening.

Thanks for the update!

Ok- ready to plan further. Allanon- I tried your cell a few times this evening, but no go. And I think perhaps I have your home phone wrong- it keeps asking me for my security code! B)

The family has decided to stay local and do things they like to do rather than risk being geocaching hostages for the day. B)

So- I'm up for leaving from your house at 9am if that's still a go. FrodoB would also like to caravan, but take his own vehicle as he doesn't want to stay late. Give me a call!

LB...I know, I'm a bad boy because I don't live with my cel phone on and attached to my hip 24/7... B)

As for the home number...Hmmmm..360.794.7761. I'll call you later, but if you see this first, call me. I'm awake, way too early, for some reason. Anyone else is welcome to call as well.

Everyone else...Looks like 9:00am at my place in Monroe will be the first waypoint on the trek north. N 47° 51.108 W 121° 59.826. At least two cars will depart from here. LB and me for probaly all day, and FrodoB for a shortened day.

We can stop along the way anywhere anyone wants to be picked up.

I wanted to stop in Mt. Vernon and meet up with Symbols Crew (my boss) and do the WebCam cache and then some other caches there, but we don't have to stay long if there are other things people want to do.

After that??? that's where the "we'll go where ever the winds and LittleBlue take us"... B)
