+T10X
I'm going on a trip in a couple of weeks and plan to "collect" 3-5 Bugs before I go. Is this OK or encouraged? Quote Link to comment

Moving traveler toward their goal(s) is encouraged, but kidnapping them for months is not. Depending on how long your going to have them, you may want to contact the owners and ask if the length of time is ok with them. I'll suggest two weeks as a limit... If you will have them longer contact the owner. Quote Link to comment
+Mad_Hatter
He said that he's going in a few weeks. I think that it's a fine idea. I wouldn't mind having a TB take a long journey. Quote Link to comment
+sbell111
I think this is fine. What I do when I'm planning a trip is check the local caches for bugs. I then check the bug pages to see if any are going my way. Then I scoop up those bugs and take them with me. Last weekend, I headed to New York for a wedding. I took with me a bug that was going to Pennsylvania and another that was headed for Maine. Quote Link to comment
+Smitherington
Two things. 1. Isn't a poll supposed to have more than one choice? 2. I think it is a great idea. Bug owners want to see the bugs moved. And I really enjoy taking photos of the bugs in various settings and posting them on the bug page. My assumption is that many of the bugs have kids watching them. Bug photos make it more interesting for the kids. I have had bugs at a Thanksgiving dinner, Chicago Symphony Concert, Garrison Kiellor show, Church, Harley Davidson store, Dunkin Donuts, Marshall Fields Christmas window, in a Nature Center, at a Bob Evans restaurant, etc. Photos taken with adults, kids, animals, etc. Make it fun! +Renegade Knight
Since you have time to do a little research. Snag bugs your trip will help and leave the bugs your trip will hinder. I'd not worry about grabbing a bunch of bugs. There are enough people out there who's lack of interest makes the bugs dissapear. ============================== Wherever you go there you are. +briansnat
I've done this, but in each case, I've e-mailed the bug owner about my intentions. If it's OK with the bug owner, the great, do it. +T10X
Thanks for the help. 1. I will contact the owner 2. I like the Bug picture idea 3. My next question won't be a poll, after all, I am a newbie. Quote Link to comment
