+seeker22
What are antenna balls? Maybe Arizona specific. Maybe even Phoenix South Mountain specific. Quote Link to comment

I THINK what you're asking is "What do people mean when they say "took keychain, left antenna ball." If so, then I know what they are - they're those little things that you can stick on the end of your car antenna. You know, like the little orange "76" balls that the gas station used to give away. They're just a silly decoration. Quote Link to comment
+quills
katybird you're a fountain of info. by the way congrats on you're finds with no gps. i made my first 2 finds today. the first i could have found without it but i don't think i could have found the second without it. granted i'm still new to this. it was pretty easy with gps but i don't know how rough it would have been without. +TEAM 360
It's a local joke, I guess. South Mountain here in Phoenix has a whole bunch of broadcasting antennas for TV and radio at the top of it, so it's funny to make a cache with antenna balls in it and place it up there. Quote Link to comment
+GEO*Trailblazer 1
When I Lived in Buckeye the Radio Stations used them for Advertisements at Events In Pheonix and the Surrounding Community. That was over 20 years ago.Its funny to see that they are still using them today must be a good way to advertise... +Criminal
I think the original intent for these was to make it easier to find your car in a huge parking lot. You would look out across the great expanse of cars and spot your ball. http://fp1.centurytel.net/Criminal_Page/ Quote Link to comment
+pnew
Has anyone heard of the fast food chain Jack-In-The-Box?? They are all over Texas. They give away Antenna balls with their meals of the owner's head. Lately they've come out with New Year's, Houston Astros, and ear muff editions that are really cool. gotta love'em and they make great trade items The Department of Redundancy Department A geocache a day keeps the debtors away (cause your never home to take the call...) +Maxine&Me
I just picked some of these up at Wal-Mart to put in caches. I hope the are not considered cheezy. I wasn't even planning on trading anything just putting them in there. They had cowboy hats on and just too cute to resist. Quote Link to comment
