Daddy Oh No
I've had my 60cs for a few weeks now and I really love it. I noticed though on the odometer screen, the maximum speed recorded is way off. Anyone else have this happen or have explaination? Quote Link to comment
PDOP's
Multipathing of the sat signals (bouncing off buildings or cliffs) will give false speeds or positions. Quote Link to comment
Oneyedjack
I just received my 60CS a couple of weeks ago and have noticed the same thing. I once was stopped by a sheriff officer who claimed I was going 80 mph , I told him that was impossible and promptly showed him my Magellan Platinum screen that showed my Max speed as 64mph. Although that didn’t help in my situation , can you imagine the look on my face as well as an officer of the law if I showed him my Garmin 60CS max speed.......................say 188mph. I bet they would pay that some attention Quote Link to comment
VisionQuest220
I got a max speed reading of nearly 1100 mph on my Quest a few weeks ago. I didn't know the ol' sedan still had that much get up and go! Quote Link to comment

FtMgAl
My record is just under Mach 3 in a Pontiac. Just goes to show that we're still smarter than our machines. Quote Link to comment
GOT GPS?
My record is just under Mach 3 in a Pontiac. Just goes to show that we're still smarter than our machines. Just remember wheels up when you go into super cruise in that pontiac, wheels down can be deadly at mach 3. Seriously, a GPS should have a crude motion sensor to help the GPS throw out the bad signals, and triangulate your position only on the good signals. Quote Link to comment

Green Achers
I'd like to publicly apologize to $ATM$ as I accused her of having a lead foot after my new 60cs recorded an illegal maximum speed. No way I'll ever show it to an officer unless I get to see it privately first. Perhaps the new firmware they just released will fix this problem. Quote Link to comment
