harrogate hunters
I have a disk which I developed from a cache I own with all the pictures on. However the size of each photo is 1MB ! I tried loading them all to the website, but soon ran out of space ! What is the easiest way to reduce the size so that I can display on my website for all to view ? Do I need a special program ? Normally when I use my digital camera, I have an option to reduce the quality and this brings the size down to under a 100 kb. HELP ! Quote Link to comment
Cave Troll and Eeyore
If your running xp there is a useful programme here called image resizer. We use it to resize all our photos before uploading em to the web. It makes a smaller copy of the original. Editted to add After installing the programme select your photo and right click. You can then choose one of the options available. Edited September 12, 2004 by Cave Troll & Joan Quote Link to comment
Mad H@ter
If you are usuing Win XP, download WIN XP Powertoys from Microsoft.com (free ), and use the resize pictures utility by right clicking on the file and selecting. Very easy to use and quick. Quote Link to comment
kbootb
What file type are they? If BMP then load them into a paint packag and save as JPG. This will compress them without changing image size and with little loss of quality. Also make sure not to save over the original image. Nice to keep the high quality one ontouched. +MarcB
If you upload them into GC.com, they resize automatically. If you don't have broadband this could be a bit of a problem still! MarcB Quote Link to comment
MoonHerb
If you get really stuck, make another copy of the disc and snail-mail it to me and I'll resize them in photoshop for you . . . . . Quote Link to comment

DomHeknows
there are a couple of really good album programs. The one I like is available for free at http://www.ornj.net/software/webalbum/ and was updated a couple of days ago. I don't actually use it anymore as I have a proper gallery program in my website, but I used to use this to create standalone albums. You don't need to know html or be able to resize files - just run it and upload the resulting files it creates. Quote Link to comment
