+Jared_and_Tanis
I'd like to be able to watch another's Geocaching account and see their activity, even be emailed about it. Now, I know a lot of people will disagree with that right away, but I think along with that, a user should be able to view the accounts watching theirs and allow/disallow users to do so. The only reason I suggest this is because I would like to know when my friend logs a cache or two, so I can make sure I stay ahead of him - the only reason I care about the numbers is because I want more than him . ~Jared Link to comment
+Mastifflover
I kind of like this idea also. There are a couple of cachers in the area that I like to keep an eye on. Link to comment
+Teach2Learn
This topic (or closely related ones) appears occasionally, so I'll Markwell a similar thread, Watch Another Player, where Jeremy responded. The ability to choose any account you want to watch has not always received a positive response, but a "friends" type of watch system may have hope. edit: link Edited July 30, 2004 by Teach2Learn Link to comment
+sbell111
Jeremy's responses to the other thread is an example of why I support him. He takes so much grief, but still is funny. Link to comment
thorin
You can already do this. Just create a bunch of bookmarks or a custom page that links to their stats (Kinda like mine are displayed at the bottom of this page: http://www.geocities.com/thorin.geo/yong-jin.html ... you can "View Source" to see more detail on the linkage etc if needed) J&T's would be: http://www.geocaching.com/stats/img.aspx?u...62-addfb2bb30c8 The part after uid= is the number (big nasty hex string) from their profile page. +blazerfan
I agree it would be really nice to have a "friends" list. I already keep track of most of my friends, but it would be convenient to have all of them on one page. I like to watch what local cachers are up too and I know they all keep track of me as well. That to me is half the fun of geocaching. Jeremy has already stated that he doesn't like people to abuse the "stats icon" feature. Putting several of those stat images on one page causes is a drain on the server. Link to comment

Thorin That doesn't really do the whole job. Your stats are only going to show found caches. You're not going to find out if your buddy posted a DNF on a cache. Link to comment
+Jared_and_Tanis
Exactly - I want to know what they're up to. I already have their profile page bookmarked, but I want to get an email - just like when I watch a cache. I still hold that a user should have the ability to view and block users from receiving emails. Link to comment

+Baptist Deacon
See, this is whey we need to implement a voluntary Leader board. You can opt in if you care about the numbers and compete with others. If you don't want to participate, then don't. Seems simple enough..... Link to comment
Jeremy
No it doesn't. That's a totally different feature request. Link to comment
