Wunderdog
My brother just upgraded to a Map60c. I have a 76s, and we are both familiar with the Garmin products. We spent the better part of two hours trying to get the Metroguide 4.xx and the US Topo maps to "show" on the 60c. We've loaded and re-loaded the maps, made sure they are "present" in the listed mapsets on the unit, have map detail set to "normal', all the zoom levels are on "automatic", and we have zoomed in and out. All to no avail. We cannot get the Metroguide roads nor the topo dedtail to show on the screen (yes, "show all' is selected). Is there some setting that we've missed, or is his unit bogus? From reading other posts here, it appears that both of these map sets should work on the 60c (accepting that autorouting may not work in the unit with the Metroguide maps). I hope that we are just missing something. Any ideas??? Thanks. Quote Link to comment
+Renegade Knight
That does sound odd. I'm familiar wiht the GPS V, City Select, and Topo. On my GPS the City Select maps will take priority when both maps are loaded. To see the topo I have to 'turn off' the CS maps. It almost sounds like you either imported zero detail on the maps, or the basemap is taking priority and that's all you are seeing. Wish I could help you more... Quote Link to comment
+Volwrath
Makes no sense. Turn all off/metroguide on, and set detail to max and see what happens Quote Link to comment
Swagger
I had a similar problem with the first set of maps I loaded onto my 60c. I uploaded the maps, but didn't get any detail. I chose a different map set and re-uploaded, and all was well. Haven't seen the problem since. You should also make sure you're using the latest firmware update - they released it a few days ago. Wunderdog
Well, my bro called garmin, and the unit is winging its way back for a check up. It will be interesting to see what the problem is. Quote Link to comment
jwucd
The CS takes precedence over Topo on mine as well. Is this how it's supposed to work? I don't know much and had assumed that "show all" would use both CS and topo at the same time. Thanks. Quote Link to comment
Neo_Geo
Someone else had the same problem. They had to send it back to Garmin. HERE'S THE THREAD Quote Link to comment
+pecka
I had the same problem w/ local DIY TOPO maps - they uploaded but I can't see them in my unit Quote Link to comment
+pecka
Oh, maybe I know the solution. It seems that the TOPO maps are transparent so you have to use them w/ some other map. Try to upload any other map along with the TOPO. Quote Link to comment
