Status of Map Server

Jeremy,

If someone has the time, many states offer free DRGs on a state GIS web site. It's of course easier to get the CDs with the files. A cheap place to find these now is on Ebay. Several Ebay vendors offer 1:250000 and 1:100000 state map CDs at much cheaper prices than the map vendors. The USGS maps are copyright free. (However, USGS itself charges a lot for getting the CDs with the files on them.) The GPSy software web site (www.gpsy.com) lists a lot of sources of DRGs (although it needs a little updating).

Wow. This is taking an awful long time to get up and running (and unfortunately has been backburnered for the "big dig" move to the new web site). Due to the ever increasing traffic I'm concentrating on a faster web site now instead of the map server. Hopefully I can get back on it soon.
