+Waterboss
My digital camera will only take pics ate 1280x960 and site manager tells me it needs to be around 600 wide. Any idea's on how to decreace the pic size before I upload it to the site? Waterboss Quote Link to comment
+Renegade Knight
Use a program like Photoshop to shrink the size. My camera does the alrge size. When I shrink it it drops from about 300k to 90k or so. Wherever you go there you are. Quote Link to comment
+Orange Hippo
great little program that will resize quickly and works great - not nearly as much $ as Photoshop either! http://www.cerious.com/ *********************************************************** You're not pull startin' a dadgum lawnmower, squeeze the trigger! +The Merman
If you have Microsoft Office you might well have Microsoft Photo Editor already. If so just open the pic click resize tell it 50% and save. You can always right click on the image and check properties to see that you are under 100k. Failing that, any editing software will resize, did you get any free with the camera? I woke this morning and my boat was not rocking...for one horrid moment I thought I lived in a house! +elmo-fried
Give the Open Source graphics program, The GIMP, a shot. It's a bit cryptic at first, but rather powerful. I'd recommend a OS-specific Stable-release binary if you're not a developer and wanting to compile from source. Jason Roysdon jason.roysdon.net Quote Link to comment

+Markwell
If you're a PC type, you can also use the free "Paintbrush" program that comes with Windows. Open up the JPG and go to Image, Stretch and Skew, and change the percentages to the same lower-than-100 number. The image will be resized and when saved, will use a higher compression giving you a whole lot of saved KB. Just make sure to do a Save As so you don't lose that original great shot. +Waterboss
Software did come with the camera but played with it for a while but no luck on how to resize it. But I'll also try some of these great idea's. Quote Link to comment

The_Brownies
If you go to the Paintshop website, you can download a demo copy of paintshop, and then you can easily resize the image. Plus the live software is only $65 - $70 at Costco. Quote Link to comment
+Liberto
Which camera do you have? Its a pretty standard feature to change the quality of which photos are taken. quote:Originally posted by Waterboss:Software did come with the camera but played with it for a while but no luck on how to resize it. Mossy Oak
Easy Thumbnails, will convert photos from 900kbs to 75kbs or less. Size then to about 100 pic, compress at 70 - 90%. You will still have the same quality. http://www.fookes.com/ezthumbs/index.html?2.53 Quote Link to comment
+TJ-Tigger
CompuPic. I like the program and have been using it for years. The pro version has a great Batch feature that will convert all selected pictures to a smaller size. Find at www.photodex.com ACDSee is another good program. Similar to CompuPic listed above, but they have additional plugins (more $) but will do similar things ac CompuPic. Find at www.acdsee.com If you have a digital camera, I am sure that the program that came with the camera will allow you to resize the pictures. What kind of camera do you have. I know that Olympus has their Camedia software, and my neighbor has a Kodak that came with good software, just don't remember what it is called. Quote Link to comment
Luffliffloaf
Irfanview is the way to go. I don't think telling a beginner to use the Gimp or Photoshop is very helpful. www.irfanview.com The best free graphics editor for beginners out there. Quote Link to comment
+Waterboss
I seemed to fixed the problem. I did aquire a disk of photo shop and did figure out how to resize my photo's and save it. Just an added step involved when I use my camera rather than my camcorder for pics. Waterboss Quote Link to comment
