bitbrain
Any of y'all using a Segway HT as your Geocaching Chariot? If I had a spare $4K in my pocket, I might get one... Quote Link to comment
SpongeRob
I think this qualifies for "No Motor Vehicles" posted at just about all preserves, parks, etc. Electric is still a motor. Before you head off in a "it's not a gasoline motor" frenzy, remember there are electric cars now too. +Renegade Knight
So...If you duct tape a wheelchair bound person to a trail version of the thing so they could take a trail it would be banned? Come to think of it. If you could put a 502 Rat motor on it and bigger wheels, that would be cool. Wherever you go there you are. Quote Link to comment
DustyJacket
Sure. Geocaching isn't nearly geeky enough. Get a segway and complete the look. DustyJacket Not all those that wander are lost. But in my case... Quote Link to comment
nctreker
Until the tires are large enough to cross streams I'm going to have to pass. I'd hate to have call in a tow truck to get my segway out of the muck. Quote Link to comment
briansnat
Even better, how aboutthe AirScooter. You won't have to worry about stream crossings. +RichardMoore
'Oh, man! I want an Air Scooter!' He said with a whine in his voice. Thanks, BrianSnat, now there's another thing that I'll dream about but can't afford. RichardMoore www.geocities.com/richardsrunaway Quote Link to comment
pkpaul
I got one, but not for Geocaching. But I went hunting today and couldn't help but wonder what it would be like with the Segway. I could get to cache area easy enough and quickly (if there's paved trails). But I would miss out on more of those little discoveries and experiences along the way. And what to do at a stream crossing (like today)? Leave a $5K Segway parked in the woods for someone to snatch? Lock it to a tree? Buy a LowJack? Transporting the Segway is easy enough, unless you want to hunt 8 or 10 caches in one day, then all that loading and unloading from the car and trying to keep track of which locations may or may not need it or facilitate it or allow it. IMHO it would make the simple sport too complicated. PKPaul www.GlideSegway.com Quote Link to comment
