+CT Trampers
I am thinking of buying a few "break your own Geodes" to use as cache prizes/trade items. Will include a note with the Geode rock indicating what it is and how to break open. Otherwise it will appear that some knucklehead just left a rock in the cache! ( In case someone doesn't know, a Geode appears to be a normal rock, but it is hollow on the inside and once broken open, reveals crystals in the center. Not particularly valuable, but kind of interesting, IMO ) Do you think these are good trade items? Thanks for your input- Quote Link to comment
+georgeandmary
VEry nice trade items... I've left them in caches back when I still traded. george Pedal until your legs cramp up and then pedal some more. Quote Link to comment

+Matt1344
The geodes, that is . . . In fact, I'd like to put a cache up at Sheffler's rock shop and geode mine in north Missouri but I haven't made it back up there since I started geocaching. Although marginally commercial I think a case could be made for the cache. If anybody wants to beat me to it, be my guest . . . Quote Link to comment

mudda_UBER
I used to love cracking those rocks open as a kid. There's a river bottom here in Kentucky with a ton of them. I actually thought about setting up a cache in the area and mentioning that it's a good place for rock hunting also. Quote Link to comment
