+GeoVamp
I don't have a favorite time of the year myself let me know yours and Why? I would follow my GPS to the gates of Hell if it pointed that way. Quote Link to comment
+Salvelinus
I said Spring because everything is new and growing. The wildlife is active and the days are longer! Haven't cached during a Summer of Fall yet so my choice may change in 6-8 months. Smoochnme "He who hesitates is lost" Quote Link to comment
+sbukosky
Since I only started in December, its hard to say, but I have decided that my favorite hunting temperature is around 40 degrees so that would pretty much be either side of winter . Steve Bukosky N9BGH Waukesha Wisconsin Quote Link to comment
+PewterZ
I would have to say fall! Though it is a tough decision between fall and spring. What I like about spring is the feeling of life being renewed. It's a great time to spot some wildlife. What I like about fall is less bugs, The tree's turning colors, and less rain(=less mud). -PewterZ Quote Link to comment

Geo Quest
Although I cache year-round my activity really drops off in the summer. When the weather warms up and the snow melts I go hiking! Team Dragon
Anywhere from November through Mar. when it's nice out. Sept & Oct it can get too warm at times as can Apr. & May. June through August means you really have to prepare for it, too long out in the desert without water is just dangerous. Quote Link to comment
BassoonPilot
Question: Favorite Time Of The Year To Cache? Answer: Yes! Quote Link to comment
+Hawk-eye
I sort of lean toward the days between January 1st and December 31st ... any other time just doesn't feel right for cache hunting ... ---------------------------------------------------------------- Co-founder of the "NC/VA GEO-HOG ASSOCIATION" ... when you absolutely have to find it first! +Doodad
I have to agree with Hawk-eye but I would include the end dates also. quote:Originally posted by Hawk-eye: I sort of lean toward the days between January 1st and December 31st ... any other time just doesn't feel right for cache hunting ... +GatoRx
Winter has my vote! The views of the forest may not be as spectacular as when there are leaves on the trees, but that generally means that a satellite lock is easier to keep. Around here, winter is also the time of year when the mosquitoes, snakes, and other assorted treacherous wildlife aren't quite so abundant. Quote Link to comment
+sbell111
Every day of the year is the right day for geocaching. Since I live in the south, winter is the most comfortable time to cache. Quote Link to comment
+VentureForth
Been at it since December... Winter has definitely been the easiest. As spring comes in, so does the undergrowth, snakes, other snacking animals and the RAIN. Lots and LOTS of rain. I would assume that my favorite time would be Fall/Winter/Spring, pretty much in that order. All though, since I am caching with somewhat regularity even now, I am adjusting to the wicked Summer just around the corner. Interesting note: Since aboout early April, activity at all my caches has dropped significantly. --------------- Go! And don't be afraid to get a little wet! Quote Link to comment

No mosquitoes. Good GPS reception because of the minimal tree cover. The cold wasn't that bad and there was enough snow once to go snowshoeing for a cache. Quote Link to comment
+The Cheeseheads
I'd say anytime of the year where those dadgum ticks are dormant. Man I hate those little buggers... Quote Link to comment
