+Criminal
Found this antenna while rummaging through an abandoned office today. It was in a box for a mounting kit for a Garmin I’ve never heard of. Anybody know what it is? This is the stock antenna and normal reception for my driveway. The one I found. It never fully locked on WAAS sat #47, but the sat was providing corrections. I have never gotten 8' in my driveway, and sat #47 is normally only available on peaks or large clearings. http://fp1.centurytel.net/Criminal_Page/ Quote Link to comment
+jstream
That looks very much like the antenna for my GPS75. A nice older unit, very nice since SA was turned off. Doesn't do very well under trees. But otherwise pretty good. will Quote Link to comment

+DustyJacket
It appears that bigger is better. (Looks like an oil filer, or a suppressor with the end plugged up.) DustyJacket ...If life was fair, a banana split would cure cancer. Quote Link to comment

I ram mounted the GPS V to the windshield of the rental in Tampa, entered the address for the resort in Orlando, woof-poof i'm there! We have gift certificates for Applebees, enter applebees in the V and it finds the nearest one. Paper is so, like 1980s. http://fp1.centurytel.net/Criminal_Page/ Quote Link to comment

+leatherman
Yeah, no beeps. I have to plug mine into my lap-top to get turn by turn. That gives me a hell'a screen though. +niskibum
I hope you aren't putting your laptop on your dashboard or looking away from the road to stare down at it while you are driving. That practice is very unsafe and could cause you to spill your beer! Quote Link to comment

Getting a house with a three car garage in April. Should take care of that problem. ON TOPIC: Did some playing with the antenna at lunch today, it rocks. Reception is incredible and it gives the V an ominous look. http://fp1.centurytel.net/Criminal_Page/ Quote Link to comment
+phantom4099
Wow! looking at your homepage picture I realized how boring my part of the country is, and why there are very few caches here. +Criminal
I retire from the AF next month, I'm staying here in WA. Tacoma sucks but nobody says I have to live there. There's just so many great forests and a wide range of climates, why live anywhere else? http://fp1.centurytel.net/Criminal_Page/ Quote Link to comment
+lohroffc
I think the antenna is a modified pringles can dyslexics of the world, untie. Quote Link to comment
