The issue of words having different meanings from place to place reminds me of a girl (teen daughter of missionary friends) from Costa Rica going next door to Panama to help with something when a word she said brought gasps from the Panamanians.  In Costa Rica the word did not carry the same connotations at all.  She did avoid the word afterward.

I've read what I thought were the instructions, and from what I understood, you do what you normally do for Geocaching, such as find caches, and that's it.  A find equals "Fuel" for the one community fuel goal, and there's no other action necessary to "make fuel" from your Find.  But I also see in this thread that people "selected fuel", and other threads about particular goals for cachers to accomplish.  So I'm not sure if I contributed anything at all, or selected fuel properly or whatever.  I'm sure it didn't matter, because I've only found a handful of caches lately.  I usually notice these things late, where maybe I only need a couple of a certain cache type, so I go try to grab those.  This time, I'm not sure what the special activities are (aside from looking for hidden Tracking Codes).

Some beginning Spanish speakers are very red faced when they use that word and find out it means something much different than they assumed.

back to the Cosmic Quest, does anyone know the actual number of fuel generated  by the promotion, i would love to keep a record of it and what i contributed to it

Apparently the Cosmic Quest broadened interest in the game.

15,244,499 was the last I saw fairly soon before it ended. I'm sure there were points after that but it's close.
