National Society Daughters of the American Revolution Monuments and Memorials - A Waymarking.com Category

DAR  Historic Sites and Properties website only contains 28% of the DAR markers that I have been able to identify.   You will find alot more information on  DAR chapters  facebook pages and websites. To find the DAR chapters it is better to google for them instead using the dar.org website.

Waymarking  has about 45% DAR markers but they are difficult to search for.

Historical Marker Database has close to 3000 .  They have a series defined for DAR under heritage which makes it easy to get a list.

Google is a very good source .

Spain as a nice map of their sites:

If the year that the monument was placed cannot be determined what should I put?

For me I always put 1/1/1111 if the date cannot be determined.

If the year can be determined: 1/1/year

if the month and year can be determined: month/1/year

Date fields should not be used, anyway. In a text field you can enter a date, a year, a month, a time span or any guesstimate in any wording you like. Much better. And it is impossible to enter dates before 1/1/1000 even if you know it exactly (this has already happened to many European waymarkers).

Here's an example. I can get really close as to the year it was placed, I can take a really good guess at which chapter she was involved with, enter obituary mentions Daughters of the American Revolution.

But is that enough information for a waymark in this category?Screenshot_20230507-215755.png.cfc79cedcf1e5851d7092067c7b836f3.png

Date Placed:
[enter date in m/d/yyyy format, leave blank if you don't know]

If  the date is missing then leave the Date Placed blank.

If  the year is missing then leave the Date Placed blank.

If the MONTH is missing then replace with 1.

If the DAY OF THE MONTH  is missing then replace with number 1.
