+Crazy4horses
DAR Historic Sites and Properties website only contains 28% of the DAR markers that I have been able to identify. You will find alot more information on DAR chapters facebook pages and websites. To find the DAR chapters it is better to google for them instead using the dar.org website. Waymarking has about 45% DAR markers but they are difficult to search for. Historical Marker Database has close to 3000 . They have a series defined for DAR under heritage which makes it easy to get a list. Google is a very good source . Spain as a nice map of their sites: https://www.darspain.org/ Sometimes you find news articles https://www.stripes.com/theaters/europe/2022-10-30/daughters-american-revolution-plaque-zweibrucken-7859302.html Quote Link to comment
+Crazy4horses
"The American patriots were aided by an even larger coalition of European Powers which included France, Spain, the United Netherlands, and officers of various European nations. Of particular note were the contributions of men such as the Marquis de Lafayette, Baron von Steuben, Casimir Pulaski, Rochambeau, and Tadeusz Kościuszko." 1 Quote Link to comment

+Max and 99
I was just about to ask if headstones are accepted, then I saw one approved by the category. All those headstones I've visited with the Golden Wheel on them..... Quote Link to comment
+Max and 99
If the year that the monument was placed cannot be determined what should I put? Quote Link to comment

For me I always put 1/1/1111 if the date cannot be determined. If the year can be determined: 1/1/year if the month and year can be determined: month/1/year Quote Link to comment

In a text field you can enter a date, a year, a month, a time span or any guesstimate in any wording you like. Much better. And it is impossible to enter dates before 1/1/1000 even if you know it exactly (this has already happened to many European waymarkers). Quote Link to comment
+Max and 99
Here's an example. I can get really close as to the year it was placed, I can take a really good guess at which chapter she was involved with, enter obituary mentions Daughters of the American Revolution. But is that enough information for a waymark in this category? Quote Link to comment
+Crazy4horses
Date Placed: [enter date in m/d/yyyy format, leave blank if you don't know] If the YEAR is missing then leave the Date Placed blank. If the MONTH is missing then use the number 1. If the DAY OF THE MONTH is missing then use the number 1. Quote Link to comment
