Did you "retrieve" the TB on the computer/in the app? To do this, you need to enter the tracking code, etc. - which puts it in your inventory. Then when you log the other cache, you can "drop" it in to the cache when you make your log.

Do you still have the tracking number somewhere? If so, you can still do it. If not, either you'll have to go get it, or just leave it for the next cacher to fix. ;)

Here’s a help page about logging Trackables:

https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=30&pgid=151

You must make a Retrieve log first, then a Drop log.

Congratulations on finding a TB! You have four listed as logged on your account - have you logged the TB that is listed in the wrong cache? Your account also lists 181 finds - are you using a shared account?

In case it is - every TB has a unique code written on it. This is how a player can log that TB - either Retrieve (picked it up from a cache), Grab (if you get it from somewhere else, like somebody hands it to you), Discover (you find it in a cache but you know you either can't help it on it's mission or aren't picking it up) and Drop (putting it into a cache).

If you are still relatively close to where the TB is, then what you should do is go to the cache and find the unique code that is on the TB, use that code to log a Retrieve (which will put it in your inventory) then log a Drop to move it from your inventory and into the cache where you physically place it.

If any of this isn't clear or you have further questions, please feel free to ask. :)

When you find and take a TB with you and start to log it, make sure the previous cacher "dropped" (logged it as put in that cache) it already. Don't just "grab" it from them if they have not logged it yet. When we pick up or leave TBs we log in the evening when we get back home so at least give people who don't log "in real time" with an app the opportunity to log.

If you're talking about "Amy's big day",  you retrieved it and it's still in your possession.  It's the only one listed still in your possession.

If that's the one, you'd need to "Drop" it into the cache you "moved it to" for it to be listed to it.

 - That log  itself will say "placed", which we find is confusing for folks new to trackables. It should really be "Dropped" like the action we took.

Someone had to "grab" one from you (baltic cruiser)  on 11/19, when you didn't Drop it in a cache at that time.

 - But you Retrieved and Dropped on properly two months earlier (butterfly).

Maybe just a refresher on Trackable Basics is needed to get into the swing.  :)
