How do add a pic to a mystery cache?

Recommended Posts

hey,

i'm trying to make a mystery cache but every time I add images it wont let me submit the cache!

trust me I've tried every way I know how (okay that's not too many) I've tried copying and pasting the images to the cache description, nope😡. I've tried adding images by clicking on images and then putting the URL in were it says to put it in, nada🤬.  I've tried saving and previewing with out pic then clicking edit cache but it did not even have an option to add images! (as in pic below)

please help me with this because the puzzle would not work with out the (6)  images.

AHHHH!!! (2).png

All the pictures need to be lodge anywhere in the web, then you placed them as links.

You can use the tool available or write the code.

Something like this: <img src="http://i49.tinypic.com/rcsis8.jpg" /> for each picture.

I upload pictures to any of mine Archived Events, then copy the image address and use this link.

😓no luck on try two either!

From you previous screen capture, I couldn't see any code related to images... it must be like this: <img src="(Your link)" />

We do the same (on an archived cache).

One person actually mailed once and asked why all the crazy pictures (some were for the "off topic" forums).

 - Now we know who one of our stalkers are...   :D

I have an archived cache where someone posted a number of pictures.  I e-mailed him and asked if the maps showed the location of his mystery caches?

In fact... I just go until I can copy the address, than I cancel the upload, so the gallery remains untouched. ;)

Now that you have the images hosted, you should be able to link to them in the Cache page description by adding, e.g.

<img src="https://static.wixstatic.com/media/94fc08_87e76b53d9324c2ca837c5f798e11119~mv2.png" />

for the first puzzle image.

You just need to copy and paste that <img...> string into the Description when you edit the cache page - everything including the open and close tags (< and >).

If you look at the source code for each of your puzzle pages, you should be able to find the image urls.  They’re all very similar to the one above, and end ‘-mv2.png’.  (Not on my PC now, but I may be able to take a look later.)

You should probably check out an HTML guide to see what’s possible, but these tags might help...

<p>The ‘p’ starts a new paragraph.<br />A ‘br’ puts in a line break.<br />You should end the paragraph with an end tag.</p>

The way I do it is to just create the cache page. Then before submitting it I upload the image to that cache page.

That way you don't run into problems with the image disappearing from the web.

Then I open note pad. I then paste this into notepad. <center><img src="code goes here "></center>

Then I open the link on that cache page to the file image that I uploaded before. Then I copy the address bar information.

This is the location of the picture. Now close that with the back arrow, your cache page will now be in front of you.

Open that notepad file you still have open. In the spot on that html code line between the quotation marks " " you will paste that address that you copied.

Now high lite and copy all that info you just created. Now go to your cache page and edit the page. In the story area paste that code.

Your picture will now be in the center. I would suggest that you save my html code line for future use. You can also paste giffs in that area. I have done that to.
