+Boojum
That poor beaver! Now we can see why fractal would think they were extinct. It did make me think that the tree would be better... after all, how many geocaches can be found under a beaver! Oh wait, don't answer that Quote Link to comment

+Mr. Snazz
I don't want to be a party pooper, but technically you're not allowed to display/use a modified Groundspeak Geocaching logo. I doubt you'd get called on it, but I thought it should be pointed out. Quote Link to comment

+Peanuthead
Well, the first one is no good. I mean, the tree is the right color, but it still has needles on it, and none of the trees around here have any left. All burnt off. Quote Link to comment

+dasein
Maybe they will grant it. The geocoin at web page obviously uses the Groundspeak logo. If they got permission, maybe we can too! laurak of dasein (This is my 1st time trying to use the URL instant UBBCode. Hope I did it right!) Quote Link to comment

In the meantime, you could still tell me which one you like better. I personally like the 'looks' of the one w/ the tree better. Yeah, Oregon is the Beaver State, and my husband is a HUGE Beaver football fan, but that aside, I feel that when people think of Oregon, they think of trees before beavers. Some people may not even recognize the silhouette of a beaver, though everyone knows what a tree looks like! There was one cache we were searching for though where we saw several trees that had been gnawed on by beavers... Sorry, the hour is too late to get hubby's opinion. Knowing him, he'd vote for the beaver one (you know, the football thing). Tomorrow we're going down to Corvallis for the OSU football season opener. Go Beavs! Quote Link to comment

+Mr. Snazz
Beavers were hunted to extinction in Oregon by an evil Duck overlord. There have been several attempts at Oregon State University to genetically engineer a more superior Beaver, able to stand up to Ducks, but thus far those attempts have met with mixed success. Well, somehow there's actually a beaver living in the water near our Rabbit's Waterfront Scramble cache. That beaver HAS to be genetically engineered if he's actually able to live in the Willamette He's so cute. Anyways, I'd go with the beaver I guess, just because it's a lot cuter (sp?) than a tree I am the Rabbit King, I can do anything Quote Link to comment

+Nurse Dave
I say go with the tree. I'm getting pretty tired of beaver this and that. I think nice green trees seperate Oregon from many other states. ---I will stand out, I am a raven in the snow. Quote Link to comment

+oregone
Judging from the beavers' performance (so far) versus EKU, maybe ya DO gotta go with the beaver. By the way, what exactly is this logo for? Cuz i ain't usin' it unless it features a nun, a can of pbr, and some sort of representation of two things that occur at professional tractor pull meets. all rights reserved, all wrongs reversed Quote Link to comment

+Boojum
I got the okey-dokey on the modified geocaching logo(s) today. Looks like a fairly even split between the tree and beaver, so I may make some of both. Hey Oregone, I've never been to one of those tractor pulls... what goes on there? Quote Link to comment
White Rabbit
You should eliminate some of the white in between the pictures. They're too far apart I think. I'm still going with the beaver. I am the Rabbit King, I can do anything Quote Link to comment

I agree with White Rabbit. And while we're on to constructive criticism, I think the beaver or tree should be bigger. It should take up more of the square, like the figure in the yellow square. +Boojum
the final frontier... The spacing between the squares is the official geocaching logo spacing. Wouldn't want to play with that, now would we? I suppose I can bump up the sizes of the tree and beaver though... Thanks for the comments. Quote Link to comment
