  3. quote:Originally posted by Cracker7M:Also, until VERY recently, 3.12 was the most recent "official" version posted on Magellans website. They now have 4.03 up, and I'm not even sure they ever had 4.02 up on the site.... I just came from the Magellan web site and the OFFICIAL version is still 4.02 and has been for several months. I have used 4.02 from the time it came out with no problems at all, however some people have had nothing but trouble with it?? It might be how you load it, but I'm really not sure on that. I just followed the instructions to the letter, fired it up and have been a happy cacher from then on... 5. Hi, I live in Vancouver, Washington U.S.A. and I often scroll down to the UK section to see whats going on over there, I enjoy reading your posts and would like to someday, cache in your area. You all seem to be a fun bunch. I find it refreshing to see how you handle potentially nasty topics as this one would be over here. The poor guy would have been run out on a flaming rail. Instead, you all handled it with tact and merit. The US forums could take a lesson from all of you. Good caching Bob G. 7. Go to your "my cache page" and there is a list of all the bugs you own and found. They are hyper-linked so you can also go to the bugs page. Bob G. (1pilot) ********************************************************** Where are we going?......And WHY am I in this handbasket???

  10. I started with the Blazer12, and found my first eighty caches with it. I just wanted a better unit after a while. One that had maps and I could download waypoints onto, rather than doing it by hand. I got a Meridian and I gave the Blazer12 to my son and he is now using it to cache with. We have used them togeather and both got us to the cache just fine. Bob G. ********************************************************** Where are we going?......And WHY am I in this handbasket???
  11. My first take, was some dog treats, from Makaios Sauvie Island stash. My dog promptly ate them on the spot. The second was a sticky hand from Mike Teauges Lacamas lake stash, it too, is long gone. 12. quote:Originally posted by Mr. Snazz:Anybody know if the meridian yellow will work with maps from Mapsend Topo? I have a platinum, and mapsend topo, but was thinking of getting a Yellow to mount on my dash. Wanted to know if I'll have to shell out extra cash for a different map program Thanks! It looks like the yellow is the same unit as the green (only yellow) so it should work. 13. quote:Originally posted by BeOnTheLookOut:Why don't people keep up with the numbering sequence in the log books. _This just irks me!_ Don't people want to know how many have been there? I guess you could check the online logs. But what about the surprise in the hunt? You've been with us for a little over a month, Wait until you lose a TB, or a cache to get irked. ********************************************************** Where are we going?......And WHY am I in this handbasket???

  15. quote:Originally posted by stlthy1:I did this and the Easy GPS aint so easy for me. I cant figure this thing out. When i get the info into easy gps how do i find it in my Magellan? Yes i do have the pc data cable hooked up to my gps. Thanks If you have EasyGPS installed on your computer and the baud rate set on your GPS, (I use 9600),1. click on the download to easygps link on the cache page 2. you then can either download to your computer or open from the site (thats what I do ) 3. easygps will open with the geocache or caches listed.Go to file/preferences/edit set the baud rate the same as your GPS (it should be turned on now) highlite the cache or caches and hit "send" to transfer to the GPS. After the bar goes all the way from left to right, you can turn easy gps off. Go to menu/ database/user on your Magellan and the caches should be listed there as waypoints. hope that helps Bob G. Seatrout http://img.Groundspeak.com/user/85907_1100.gif Thanks,I checked it out..I use hotmail, and up until now (two years) have not had any problems with it. I still get all the pop-it notices and my pocket queries make it as well as e-mails to and from users, it's just the watch list notices that have not been comming through. I'm hoping it is just a backlog and I will get a slug of them soon. Bob G. ********************************************************** Where are we going?......And WHY am I in this handbasket???

  21. For the last three days I have not recieved any notification of caches on my watch list being logged. I know some of them have been found, as I looked on the cache page.Is it just my e-mail or has anyone else noticed that too? I have gotten the my pop, notification for the forums, just no cache notices. Bob G. (1pilot) ********************************************************** Where are we going?......And WHY am I in this handbasket???
  22. Well, I was reading this thread yesterday, thinking how lucky I have been that most of the caches I've placed have made it, or soon will make it to the two year mark, without being plundered, washed away, or burnt up. I then went out to do cache maintainance and found that one of my oldest caches "The Old Carty Place" had been stolen . Joseph and I hunted all over for it, with no luck. Met Lord_Greggon at the gate headed in to hunt it, and had to tell him it wasn't there....bummer. Bob G.
