+Lellynelly
How do I put a congratulations ftf banner on a cache page? Quote Link to comment
+Dr.Evil!
Here is a scrolling banner. Go to edit on your cache page and place this there. Where it says "Your scrolling text goes here", write in what you want it to say and that is all that will show up on your cache page for the banner. <marquee behavior="scroll" direction="left">Your scrolling text goes here</marquee> Quote Link to comment

+Lellynelly
I can't find anything that says 'your scrolling text goes here' Quote Link to comment
Duskywing
I can't find anything that says 'your scrolling text goes here' That is where you put YOUR text congratulating the FTF. Copy the code (in the pointy brackets) and put that into your cache page....replace the 'your scrolling text goes here' with whatever message you want to have. Quote Link to comment
+Lellynelly
But when I go onto the cache I can't see where it says 'your scrolling text goes here' or any other obvious place in which to paste the message Quote Link to comment
+BlackRose67
But when I go onto the cache I can't see where it says 'your scrolling text goes here' or any other obvious place in which to paste the message You need to edit the text on your cache page and make sure HTML is enabled. Then you will paste something like the following: <marquee behavior="scroll" direction="left">Congratulations to CacherA and CacherB on your joint FTF</marquee> in the body of your cache page. +Lellynelly
sorry Black rose I don't understand your instruction (I have a learning disability) Please are you able to do a screenshot to show me? Quote Link to comment
+niraD
When you edit the page, scan the form for a checkbox labeled "The descriptions below are in HTML". Is that checkbox checked? If it is checked, then look for a text area labeled "Long Description". Scroll down to where you want the banner to be, and copy the <marquee...>...</marquee> examples above to that location. +WarNinjas
<marquee behavior="scroll" direction="left">Congratulations to CacherA and CacherB on your joint FTF</marquee> Put your text into the large part highlighted. Quote Link to comment
+TriciaG
Honestly, I'd not put it on the cache page. They're ugly (IMO) and they don't show up correctly on apps and GPS devices, so they're not worth it to me. Quote Link to comment
+bflentje
If I FTF your cache, I may say so in my Found It log. But please, do not hard code my caching name in your cache listing. Quote Link to comment
+J Grouchy
If I FTF your cache, I may say so in my Found It log. But please, do not hard code my caching name in your cache listing. I don't care whether someone does that for me or not. On the other hand, I hope nobody ever has the expectation that I do so for them. I never really celebrate the FTF in my cache description. The only exception was on a difficult puzzle of mine where the first person to properly solve it was not the first person to find it. Quote Link to comment

No longer playing the ftf side-game, though (on longer hides usually) I may be ftf on a few. The couple times I've ever gone back to a cache page to even notice, after asking the CO why, it's often because they've seen it on others (cache n dashes mostly), and thought it was expected of them. The strange thing about it is those same people that go back to add that in are often the same ones who don't bother to maintain the listing in other ways, like updating the coordinates, changing the description or hint in the event they have to replace the container, posting OM logs to clear out the NM red wrench, etc...
