+Benchmark Blasterz 65 Posted October 11, 2015 BUT..... Search from Here still does not work -- that's the most useful tool I had to find waymarks at a large urban location where I knew I would be. PLEASE FIX Quote Share this post Link to post
+RakeInTheCache 22 Posted October 13, 2015 I think lumbricus spoke too soon. I think it was fixed but today it is broken again. Seems Groundspeak has been tinkering again but why? The site seemed to be working ok for a while. :-( Quote Share this post Link to post

+NW_history_buff 16 Posted January 30, 2016 I definitely miss the 'Search From Here' button option below the map. ever since Google Maps was replaced with MapQuest it stopped working. PLEASE FIX THIS Groundspeak! Quote Share this post Link to post
+kJfishman 1 Posted February 7, 2016 I noticed if you go to Categories > enter Pergolas in the Find a category box you get a message no categories fit your request. If you click on view entire list and use windows cntrl f to enter the search it finds it. Also Pergolas didn't show up on Profile > Category Grid when I looked. The search functions still don't work very well. The Waymark search isn't working correctly either. Quote Share this post Link to post

The grid is ordered by the date of the category creation, not activation, and this one has already existed a while before it went to peer review. Quote Share this post Link to post
+PISA-caching 186 Posted February 10, 2016 When I enter "Pergolas" (or any other word) in the category search form, all I receive is the "An Error Has Occurred" page. Additionally, the link "Forums" on that page points to http://portal.Groundspeak.com/forums/default.aspx?GroupID=6 which can't be found, while the "forums" link on regular pages points to the working URL http://forums.Groundspeak.com/WM. That's why I added "(or any other word)". :-) Quote Share this post Link to post

+adgorn 1 Posted April 5, 2016 I want to find out if Grand Central Station is a waymark. How do I do that? I keep getting an error when I try those keywords. Quote Share this post Link to post
+dtrebilc 1 Posted May 10, 2016 Because the search function does not work correctly it can be frustrating. However using the 'FIND NEAR' option tends to work well. This function uses an address as a starting point and shows all the nearest waymarks from that point (25 per page). If you go to the 'home' tab on the menu and enter the address of what you're looking for in the box labelled 'near' it should start to show you the area around the address. In theory you can also use the optional keyword box, but this does not tend to work well. Sometimes it starts to show you waymarks at a place you do not expect, but the more specific you make the address the better. So for example if you enter Manchester, you will get Manchester in the UK. Typing Manchester, New Hampshire will give you one in the States. You can also specify street names :- for example there is no Orange Street in Manchester in UK so Orange Street, Manchester starts in the Manchester in New Hampshire. You could equally be more specific with Orange Street, Manchester, New Hampshire. Good Luck Quote Share this post Link to post
+T0SHEA 180 Posted May 11, 2016 I want to find out if Grand Central Station is a waymark. How do I do that? I keep getting an error when I try those keywords. Go to Google maps, find the coords for GCS and plug them (decimal degrees, straight from Google Maps, works best) into the search box. Don't bother removing the comma, the parser ignores it. Using decimal degrees coords is the way I search the vast majority of the time, whether I get the coords from Google Maps or my own coords sheet. This has always worked well for me.
