  1. Radio Shack Stores category appears to be non-responsive. If the category has been abandoned I would take it over to keep it alive. 2 weeks ago I Submitted this and no responce https://www.Waymarking.com/waymarks/wm180MW_Grizzlys_General_And_Skagway_Radioshack_Skagway_AK
  2. Search function is joke. It is about time they fix it. What do they do with the money they collect for Premium Membership? Sure not spent on maintaining the Waymarking site.
  3. It doesn't work for me very often. And when you do mange to do a search it doesn't list all the waymarks in the area.
  4. What is the current procedure to report Waymarks that sit in Que for weeks? Used to be try contacting the officers and if that failed there was a person to notify. Is that still the procedure and if so who do we contact?
  5. I sent this email to the leader and members of Iron Furnace Ruins kJfishman says, FYI: http://www.Waymarking.com/waymarks/WMR9T1_Mohawk_Stamp_Mill_Ruins_Gay_MI has been in que since 5/28/16 Thanks Kent I sent this email to the leader and members of Quaker Meeting Houses category kJfishman says, http://www.Waymarking.com/waymarks/WMQWTC_First_Society_of_Friends_Meeting_Hall_West_branch_IA has been in the waiting on group vote stage for sometime. The waymark was submitted 4/7/2016. It was the as the title states the first meeting hall until they outgrew it. Thanks Kent Both waymarks are still open.
  6. I don't know if it has been suggested but if a waymark isn't approved after 14 days it should automatically be approved.
  7. I don't have the worlds fastest internet connection but uploading an image to the Waymarking site takes considerably longer than it does uploading to any other sites. Anyone else notice this?
  8. Why would I search for waymarks near N 38° 42.087 W 090° 14.127 and get a list of waymarks in Germany? N 50° 30.710 E 007° 17.980 isn't even close! The Category Search has issues also. They need to do a little work on the web page.
  9. I noticed if you go to Categories > enter Pergolas in the Find a category box you get a message no categories fit your request. If you click on view entire list and use windows cntrl f to enter the search it finds it. Also Pergolas didn't show up on Profile > Category Grid when I looked. The search functions still don't work very well. The Waymark search isn't working correctly either.
  10. Waymarking web pages still load so slow! Any chance they will fix it?
  11. If you have waymarks stuck in limbo the procedure is ""New listings are reviewed, on average, within 72 hours of submitting by an officer of the group that manages the category. If your listing has entered the voting process, or if there are larger than expected volumes of new listings, it can take up to a week for a listing to be reviewed. If you have not received a notification within a week from sending your listing for review, you can elect to escalate the review process. Determine if your listing has been sent to vote by the group. Go to your listing. Near the top in red letters you will see the status of your listing. If the listing has either received no action or remains in vote for a period that exceeds seven days you may use the site messaging system to contact Checkmark. When contacting Checkmark, include the unique WM CODE found near the top of the Waymark listing page for ease of identification. Shortly after the escalation request is received, Checkmark will review the proposed listing. This will be done as appropriate to the specific category guidelines." Publication of Your Waymark" What do you do when Checkmark doesn't respond????
  12. The Transcontinental Air Mail Route seems like a Category someone may want to create. This arrows may fall under some other categories also. Would be nice find some of these so if you stumble across one waymark it! http://www.cntraveler.com/daily-traveler/2013/06/transcontinental-air-mail-route-maphead-ken-jennings

  14. This problem could be the demise of Waymarking. Veteran waymarkers and hew waymarkers may get frustrated and quit. There are far too many categories that are very slow or don't review waymarks at all.
  15. Silverquill, thank you for your response. The intent is to make it list based, not an opinion based category.
  16. Yes it could be expanded and it would be on a per place basis.
  17. There are a lot of subjective categories. It is like the category 1000 Places to See Before You Die list based based on lists.

  21. Recruiting for a new group. The mission of this group is to document "The World's Strangest _______ " Fill in the blank. Here are some sources for strange places. Popular Mechanics has lists of Strange places and things. There are other sources also. Just google "Strangest" http://www.popularmechanics.com/technology/engineering/architecture/the-worlds-18-strangest-hotels#slide-1 http://www.popularmechanics.com/technology/engineering/gonzo/worlds-strangest-architecture-engineering http://www.Waymarking.com/groups/details.aspx?f=1&guid=29b77c98-5f97-47be-b193-5e1124f7acd2
  22. Anyone involved with the new Discovery @ Mapquest http://discover.mapquest.com/ ? If nothing else it looks like it could be used as a guide to find waymarkable places.
