WildNorthFestival
Good afternoon, My name is Kenneth McElroy, and I am the Wild North Festival Project Co-ordinator for 2014. The Wild North Festival is a charity and community project run by the North Highland Initiative and the Heritage Lottery Fund. The festival is a series of events and activities which are designed to promote the culture, nature and history of the north Highlands of Scotland. You can learn more about the Wild North Festival here: https://www.facebook.com/WildNorthFestival I intended to create a 'geocache adventure' as part of the Wild North Festival for 2014, in order to encourage people to get out and explore their area. I have just submitted my first geocache, hidden at Dunbeath, and I will create 7 more along the Highland coast as part of this event. I have just noted now, however, that it can take upto 7 days for a geocache to become active. I did not realize this when creating the geocache adventure - the adventure is due to start on Saturday 13th September. To this end, I was wondering if it would be possible to 'fast-track' the process and have these geocaches reviewed / published' by tomorrow? We would be incredibly grateful as we would not want to disappoint anyone taking part in the geocache adventure. If you have any questions or comments please contact me on kenneth@north-highlands.co.uk Kind regards, Ken Quote Link to comment
+narcissa
Your best bet would be to find out who the local reviewer is and contact him/her directly. Make sure everything you need to publish is in order. Do you have permission for the cache placements? Quote Link to comment
WildNorthFestival
Yes - I have permission for all the geocaches. Quote Link to comment
+narcissa
I think this is the reviewer you need to contact: http://www.geocaching.com/profile/?guid=15312606-3dac-4704-a85c-7460b9ba4d15 Quote Link to comment
+MartyBartfast
Find the publishing reviewer for the area (look at a nearby cache and look at the fist, "Published", log and Email them through their profile. In lots of areas caches are often published much quicker than the 7 day maximum, within a couple of hours isn't uncommon in some places. Quote Link to comment
Keystone
I merged a duplicate thread started in the Geocaching Topics section. This is the proper forum section. Quote Link to comment
Keystone
I see just one cache awaiting review from your account. Your first priority is to get the pages put together for the other seven. Using the "Note to Reviewer" field, indicate they are all related to your festival and ask for them to be published at the desired time. Quote Link to comment
WildNorthFestival
Thanks folks - I have contacted 2 reviewers. But it's now not letting me create further geocaches! The 'Continue' button is greyed out. Why might this be? Quote Link to comment

Assuming you're creating the page at a computer and not on a mobile device, a likely cause is that you have not confirmed your cache's position on the map. Quote Link to comment
WildNorthFestival
I've got the co-ordinates down in the location - hit enter and it shows the location of the geocache where I want it to be - but 'Continue' is still greyed out. Am I missing anything else here? Quote Link to comment
Keystone
The problem may lie in the words "hit enter." Did you also click on the "Preview on Map" button, next to the coordinate input box? The "Continue" button will not be clickable until you have confirmed that you looked at the map. This is because of the very high numbers of cache submissions made at incorrect coordinates. WildNorthFestival
Got it sorted, thank you! Ken Quote Link to comment
+Bear and Ragged
I think this is the reviewer you need to contact: http://www.geocaching.com/profile/?guid=15312606-3dac-4704-a85c-7460b9ba4d15 The reviewer is NOT Deceangi. The account is no longer in use, so not even worth trying to contact him. Try another! Quote Link to comment

+Wild-Skye
googles it - you are a bit too far north for me to visit quickly just now. hope it goes well Quote Link to comment
+Wild-Skye
not sure why forum seems to have published a couple of blank posts from me - I wanted to suggest LORGADH as reviewer or certainly as helpful person to advise. His/her (I think it is her but not sure) Area is highland but don't know how far north it extends. Quote Link to comment
+castagnari
I wanted to suggest LORGADH as reviewer or certainly as helpful person to advise. His/her (I think it is her but not sure) Area is highland but don't know how far north it extends. You are correct (on all counts).. Lorgadh has been in contact with the OP and I believe the situation is all in hand. Edited September 12, 2014 by castagnari Quote Link to comment
