MacDarvey
Hi I am new here and just began this new adventure of Geo-caching.I already love it, since I enjoy the outdoors and on my first adventure I saw over thirty turkeys, deer and a Golden eagle. I am from PA and live in the woods, so hopefully I can find caches in the area this winter so I have something to do Quote Link to comment

Because now when I do a search It seems like the GPS is more accurate in locating. Its just me getting the "feel" of it I'm sure. But over time, I've found it gets easier to home in on the Cache. +popokiiti
Welcome to the fun! It does get easier to home in on the cache...and then someone hides a real tricky one, usually right under our noses! Quote Link to comment

+JeepFreak81
Welcome! I'm fairly new as well and I'm looking forward to some winter caching. The cold weather has certainly slowed my pace but I plan to keep caching through the winter and look forward to hitting some caches that I would otherwise not be able to get. Quote Link to comment
MacDarvey
Thanks to all of you. I found out about Geocaching from taking a course at a WITO, Women in the Outdoors, event. I was teaching rifle and there was an opening for the Geo class . I knew I would enjoy it so A friend gave me his old GPS , without the manual, so I had to figure it out by myself. I of course had to drag my husband down the road kicking and screaming the first time, but I wanted to try this. He now likes it, because he also loves the outdoors. The reason for starting late in the year is because we are heavily populated with rattle snakes and I wanted to learn how to do this without having to worry about every step I took. My second find, which was today, was in a very rocky area which I have seen snakes at in prior years so I am glad it is too cold out for them. Can anything be this addicting right off the bat? I love it already. Thanks again and I am sure I will have questions that all of you will be able to help me with. Take care and happy caching Quote Link to comment
