+MMmm!!
I know how to use google but I just can't quite find any website that will calculate the distance between coordinates. Set 1 N 44 56.339 W 122 59.106 Set 2 N 44° 56.268 W 122° 59.182 I know it is probably 600 or so feet apart but all the online calculators I found say different distances. Thanks. +MMmm!!
http://www.gpsvisualizer.com/calculators does a good job at this and tells me it's 542 ft. Thanks for the link but I am having trouble getting it to work. Calculate the great circle distance between two points does not want to give me a reading. Calculate the distance between two addresses gets confused when you input GPS coordinates. Nothing else makes sense and I see that you were able to calculate a distance in ft. What am I missing? Thanks Quote Link to comment

jholly
If your trying to determine distances from an existing cache to one you want to place the tool exists here on GC.com. Go to the hide & seek page, enter the coordinates of the proposed cache in the latitude Longitude search and click search. You will get a list of the closest caches to your proposed cache with the distances. Of course this does not show mystery or multi stages. And for the regular members, this works also. +tomfuller & Quill
Ed Williams Javascript Great Circle Calculator is my favorite- http://williams.best.vwh.net/gccalc.htm Just remember to put a colon after the degrees or it won't work. Several of my puzzle caches use Ed Williams. Quote Link to comment

+PeakFault
There is a really good iPhone app (don't know if it's on Android but it could be) called GCTools. It has many tools including Ciphers Converters Data Tables and Coordinate tools. One of the coordinate tools is "Distance between two caches" Really good app. Quote Link to comment
+EdrickV
There are some apps to do stuff like this in the field. Windows Mobile: PGCT Pocket Geocaching Toolkit http://www.pgct.nl/index-en.html iPhone: iGCT iPhone app inspired by PGCT http://igct.btstsoft.nl/ (Should be in the app store) I'm sure there are apps for Android, and more apps for iPhone too. +Fryguy1111
I just found this one from Movable Type Scripts as the ones above were too complicated for my brain to handle But this one accepts many different formats and then presents you with the distance and a google map picture of the coordinates. Oh, the distance metric but you can easily convert it if you wish. Edited October 10, 2011 by Fryguy1111 Quote Link to comment
