78s - How many caches in gpx files can be loaded?

I have a Garmin 78s. I download my pocket queries of 1000 caches each and copy the gpx file over to the GPS. My question is, how many caches can be loaded on the 78s through these gpx/pocket queries. I assume this has nothing to do with the 2000 waypoint limit as I have had more than 2000 caches loaded by copying the gpx files.

The 78 models are pretty much identical to the 62 models except for the form factor (they're the marine models, they float). I believe they can store up to 5000 caches in addition to the 2000 other waypoints.

I was under the assumption it was 2000 Geocaches/waypoints , not 5000 unless I am mistaken.

I'm with dfx on this one. Its the same as all the newer Garmins, 5000 caches.

You're thinking of the 60's not the newer 62's

Thanks everyone for the information. 5000 geocaches in excellent...Much better than the 1000 limit on the 60cs and Legend.
