Many still think it was unwise to remove them. Quote Link to comment

knowschad
"Only been a couple of months" and "they are still talking about it"? "Many still think it was unwise to remove them." Well, that sure is a shocker. For those that don't care to, or are not able to go through Facebook, here is a link directly to the cited article: http://www.lvrj.com/news/hunters-angry-with-removal-of-geocaches-on-e-t-highway-119997649.html Quote Link to comment
4wheelin_fool
I don't see what the big deal is all about, next month is May, and they can all be listed as virtuals then. Edited April 17, 2011 by 4wheelin_fool Quote Link to comment
Clan Riffster
More mindless hyperbole from Mrs Packer. Nothing surprising about that. Quote Link to comment

That would be great so all you have to do is drive the highway and the speed limit (or higher) and then you can log all the caches. I see new world records. Quote Link to comment

Add some new virts on some other highway close. More new records!! Quote Link to comment
+Michaelcycle
I only see one negative feedback comment on her article and I wonder who that was from. Well, let's see. One comment said the closure was a socialist agenda of the Senate Majority leader someone else says the closure was due to Area 51 One the other hand, in addition to the one "negative" comment vis-a-vis liability, there is one "lots of other caches in the area" and another "sounds like a complete waste of gasoline" Quote Link to comment

You don't mean to tell me that this whole post has just been a thinly veiled attempt to point the finger at one particular fellow geocacher, do you? I feel so naive! Quote Link to comment
+jacob501
The only reason they still talk about it is because they are afraid the aliens might get mad at them for removing their caches! Quote Link to comment
+Sol seaker
Actually I think those maddest are the businesses. That's why it's still in the paper. The paper doesn't care about the cachers, but it cares about the businesses in the area (as it should). If the cachers were really that upset about it you'd think they'd just put their power trail on another road nearby. All the businesses can do is get the papers to write it up. Quote Link to comment

NDOT has single-handedly shut down one of the only robust sources of tourism "one of the only"? Aside from that one silly choice of words, it really sounds like a pretty fair news story, as news stories about geocaching go. Quote Link to comment
+BuckeyeClan
Hmmm...does anybody else read Jeremy's Facebook posts? He has one about this topic, and someone (I'm assuming one of the CO's of the ET trail) posted that he is working with NDOT to bring back the power trail. Quote Link to comment

+Ambient_Skater
Officials said the treasures were too close to the road and there wasn't enough room for vehicles to safely pull over to hunt them down. All geocachers should purchase those flashing yellow strobe lights for use at roadside caches. I would be looking forward to going back and getting to do it again. Last I read, if they leave them out of the mountain passes, everything will be ok with the snowplows and trucks. When I did them it would of been nice to see a couple of breaks along the way. Quote Link to comment
