+valliantknight
As a previous owner of a GPSMAP 60CSx and an Oregon 400t am now considering the new 62st... Anybody know wether these are 'Chirp' enabled and also does it have the facility to download fieldnotes when logging found caches? Seems as though the 2000 waypoint capability and the paperless caching facility make this a good prospect. Valliant Knight. Quote Link to comment

+geodarts
And you can load up to 5000 geocaches. I have a 62s and like it a lot, but if only it had Wherigo support . . . . Quote Link to comment

vagabond
You might want to go with the 62s and download free topo maps which are as good as garmins try gpsfiledepot Quote Link to comment
+ventura_kids
...or go with the 62S and buy some street maps. How do ya get more than 2000 geocaches into the unit? Quote Link to comment

+rangerlantana
I recently got a 62st. Love it! Full descriptions, logs and hints all together, and great reception. I have a question if anyone can help. When I download geocaches via EasyGPS it doesn't add the decription, logs or hint. But when I use 'send to my GPS' it includes everything, but has to be done one at a time. Is there a better program? Thanks Quote Link to comment

+cadtenchy
I just bought the 62s and use the filesdepot maps. Also use pocket queries which are great. All the caches for a whole area in one go! Paperless caching, and amazing accuracy. Haven't needed a hint yet with it. Quote Link to comment
+geobernd
I switched from an Colorado and am happy with the switch. Main improvements for me: No more (at least so far) location drift 3-axis compass (finally a compass that is actually useful) better daylight readability (similar to the 60CS that I had a long time ago) Quote Link to comment

Take the gpx file from the pocket query and copy it to the garmin\gpx folder of your unit (or the equivalent folder on an sd card, which sometimes is a bit more stable for me). I occasionally use GSAK to edit the gpx files, and export the resulting change to the unit. But the only thing that is necessary is to copy and paste. +ventura_kids
I use a program called GSAK. You can move stuff around and filter out the junk you don't want. Then it will download to your gps with all the pages, hints and logs. Quote Link to comment
+haleyrebekah
have a Mac and the 62st and all I have to do it drag my downloaded GPX file folders into the GPX file. Piece. Of. Cake. Then when I'm all done, I can upload the found geocaches file to geocaching.com and easily log finds. Quote Link to comment
