  1. I have recently done a few of these virtual tours linked to trackables. Is there a list or website to find a few more? This seems to be an excellent way to pass the time whilst we have to keep our heads down in these strange times..
  2. I know this may seem simple but can anybody give me a way to use my tb to record the distance travelled between my found caches since 2005 ! There's a few thousand to record and I don't really feel like doing them individually so was wondering if there is a system for doing a 'block download'. Trouble is I'm a bit of a computer numbskull so need the solution in 'baby steps'.....please
  3. Thanks Marty for the reply, I suspected as much but thought it worth a try.
  4. Does anyone know wether there is a list produced highlighting those caches requiring a long reach TOTT. It would be nice to go armed for these specific caches as its not practical to carry the item around as a matter of course. Valliant Knight.
  5. Is anybody else having problems authenticating to Project GC site. I've tried all the usual suspects, signed out of Groundspeak, voided all cookies etc but no luck. Seems to be stuck in a loop. Any suggestions.
  6. Can anybody let me know what time GSAK update or refresh our search allowances. Just trying to get my house in order and it would be nice to be able to plan my searching with a bit more definition !!
  7. Can anyone let me know if there is a list of cycle route caches in the uk...
  8. Thanks a lot Marty, that could be the one I was thinking of.Will map it out and hopefully, this will be the base line for a three week drive around all points north .
  9. I remember some time ago an article on 'Countryfile' describing a cache trail around the coast of Scotland. Does anyone remember this and, is this trail still active or archived? it was going to form the thread for a long break in the northern climes.
  10. same problem...looks as though the mapping system has gone down. This could be a real problem if it stays in limbo!! Hope those who know the way of things can sort this out...fingers crossed. Valliant Knight.
  11. As usual this Sunday i ran 10 PQ's. The Active Pocket Query page indicates that all the searches had been successfully completed but the downloads have not appeared . Anybody know what is going on with these PQ's , is there a problem at source, is there any way I can obtain the downloads by another means as I have now reached my maximum for the day.
  12. Thanks Great Scott...Wonderful solution, the job has now been done and I am happy that, should I mislay the gps in the future, I may just get it back. Valliant Knight:lol:
  13. Anybody know whether it is possible to amend the opening screen to show owner name ,contact details etc. I did this on my Oregon 400 and it seemed a really good idea as anybody finding the unit could get in touch and hopefully i'd get it back. Can seem to do it with the 650.....any ideas? Valliant Knight.
  14. Same problem with me. A number of queries have been run and the page suggests that they have gone through the system but nothing in the downloads page. Really has put the tinhat on my days activity.!!
  15. I've been using standard format PQs for years with no problems on a number of units (Gps Map 62s, Oregon 400t and the current Oregon 650). Up to recent the PQs were loading fine and all different cache symbols were showing on the unit. Recently however, when I drop a PQ onto my Oregon 650 although all the cache info is held on the unit, Mystery caches show up as a type of traditional, which means I have no ability to add new coordinates when the puzzle is solved.....any ideas whats going on?
  16. Thanks for the advice and am already eyeing up the Murray Bridge Mega, just hope we can get there
  17. Thanks to all who have responded to my request. Some invaluable advice which I have taken on board. I can see the Australian news headlines now......'Pommie savaged by wombat as he walked backwards through the bush banging his stick vigourously on the ground'. Cheers ...Valliant Knight.
  18. That sounds like a brilliant solution...sadly I am less savvy about the technical stuff than I would like to be, my son however is a computer marvel so I am going to present this solution to him tomorrow and see if he can sort me out, will let you know how I get on...thanks.
  19. Sounds like a good ideal however, the nuvi I have only takes one sd card which already has the required new maps which I shall be using over there. Additionally I have never found a way of saving the GSAK cache download onto the SD card.....any advice.? Incidentally I do already use the CT.Gsk macro
  20. I have been using my Nuvi 255w for some years now as an in car cache notification downloading up to 5000 on to the unit via GSAK using a macro programme to convert them. Is there a way that I can increase the number of caches that I can load onto the unit as I am soon off 'downunder' and was hoping to get a load more on than at present seems possible. Any ideas out there?
  21. Thanks for your reply...Wombats have now been added to our list of 'watch out for this one'!!
  22. Thanks for your help and I like your description....'the bities'....very apt. Thats a really good tip about lifting rocks/logs away from you to let the critters escape, its been logged in my to do book!
  23. Thanks for those kind words...thats given us something to concentrate our minds on. Unlike you I shall not be in the least disappointed if I dont see a snake at all !!
  24. Hi there... Starting Sydney to Canberra, then travelling along the coast to Melbourne . After Melbourne up to Adelaide and back to Melbourne via coast. Depending on time may go up towards Broken Hill. It all depends on time weather and which way the wind blows
