Expedia travel tag

A trackable with a "expedia travel tag" was just put into one of my caches. Any one know anything about these? Where do you get them?

That link refers to "thousands" of those tags being released to Geocaches. This is great if you'd like to own one, due to the other thing I found out: Some people placing orders in the past few days on Geocaching.com's "Shop For Gear" site have gotten a free Expedia tag with their order. http://www.mdgps.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6814

I got the free one, and while I do appreciate a free bug I thought the same thing.

Yeah, like when they were handing out Jeep TBs. People were pretty darn upset that they weren't provided to everyone or every country .

 

This is a business with sponsors. Personally I'm quite happy to see them offer free TBs.

I think that there is a big difference here. Groundspeak is a for profit company. If they align themselves with another company and that makes them profits, then are doing a good job.

 

Allowing other companies to advertise through cache names and descriptions does not make them profits and is not in their best interest.

 

They have done this in the past. Jeep ran a TB campaign that lasted for four years.

I got an expedia tag when I ordered a holiday gift from here for a friend. So I took the tag hesitantly. I don't use expedia but wanted to throw another travel item out there. I'm not particularly emotionally attached to it so for it to get lost won't bother me.
