holograph Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 The November statistics are available on the statistics page. The maps and counts by county have been updated also. There were 1,151 datasheets updated with new GEOCAC recovery logs. The most recent recovery added to the datasheets was dated November 14. Shorbird was busy in New York state and tagged all the remaining untouched counties. Every county in the state has now had at least one GEOCAC recovery. It looks like Benchmark Blasterz may be trying the same feat in Texas, but has a much larger task ahead. Quote
+PFF Posted December 3, 2010 Posted December 3, 2010 (edited) Great work, Jim. Always appreciated! I finally wiped off one of those annoying white squares on the North Carolina map, as well as picking up a new county in Virginia. VagabondsWV slipped through the state on a rainy day in September, without letting me buy him a cup of coffee. [Grin.] But he picked up some good finds while doing so. It looks like he followed foxtrot_xray's 2006 route through the mountains. Congratulations to RobinMohawk [RW] for doing a great job on his first NGS submission as GEOCAC. -Paul- Edited December 3, 2010 by PFF Quote
+shorbird Posted December 3, 2010 Posted December 3, 2010 Jim, thanks for the latest updates. That trip through New York was a lot of fun! Also, after several months of work, Ohio has joined the list of states which are all in color. Quote
holograph Posted December 3, 2010 Author Posted December 3, 2010 Yes, so it did, and so did Colorado. I haven't taken the time to see who was responsible, though. Quote
AZcachemeister Posted December 4, 2010 Posted December 4, 2010 Hmmm... Tossing coin to decide which county in Arizona will be the next to turn red...and which will be the last to turn red making Arizona the first state to be entirely red (by the end of the year??!?). Quote
+m&h Posted December 4, 2010 Posted December 4, 2010 Thanks, as ever. We're not active right now, but will be. Cheers, Quote
monkeykat Posted December 4, 2010 Posted December 4, 2010 well done with the fill in of new york. I had it in the back of my mind to work on it at some point, just never quite found the motivation. need a new task to dream about now... Quote

Greenlee will be more difficult to complete than Santa Cruz (which you could probably turn red in one long day). Quote
+shorbird Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 Go for it in CA! Only 4 more counties to fill the state. Back in the Northeast, Sullivan County NH stands as the last county with no recoveries. Who will go for it? Quote
+Klemmer Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 (edited) Yeah Duke, hit it! I've done my part in SoCal (along with other BM hunters, of course), and I've done a some in NorCal also. Wish I had some time to get up to those scenic white counties myself. Edited December 6, 2010 by Klemmer & TeddyBearMama Quote
AZcachemeister Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 After a BUSY weekend: Greenlee County, AZ; 59 previous recoveries + 44 (27F/17DNF) = 103 One down, one to go. Quote

Good to see someone over in that part! This past weekend, right after seeing the latest county map - I was going to try and knock out 4 uncolored counties, two in VA, two in NC. However, idiot me forgot to bring my camera. While I got two counties knocked off, it's not official until i make it back with a camera. :/ Quote
+LSUFan Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 Thanks Jim, for the updates. I see on the LA map, where our little foray down into Jackson Parish, made it. Quote
+HotRod205 Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 Thanks again for all your work on this. I'm knocking off a few Alabama counties, one I just did was Elmore, which was surprising since there are plenty of adjusted marks as well as some historic easy find scaled marks that have been logged on GC plenty of times. I've submitted a few recoveries from my trip last week. (as RTR) Quote
