+thebudman
I have a colorado 300 and have been using the Garmin brand car power cord. I have noticed over the past few months that the connection between the plug and the Garmin is getting looser and looser. I now have to delicately balance the cord on my dash to make sure the connection is maintained. Does anyone else have this happening to them and has this been noticed on any other Garmin models? +MaliBooBoo
I had that happen to my Colorado. Told Garmin and the unit was replaced even though it was out of warranty. It was deemed to be a manufacturing defect. I actually think it is probably a design defect, but whatever, they replaced it for me. Quote Link to comment
+flattie
Had the same issue, along with others issues on my first unit. I thought it was the power cord at first, but I gave it to someone else to try and it was fine. My replacement unit has been fine for over a year now. +Prime Suspect
That's why I glad my 60CSx has the far more robust round 4-pin power connector, in addition to the USB port. I only use the USB port when exchanging data with my PC. Quote Link to comment
+cummins6061
My first unit last almost 2 years before it became loose but I probably created the problem when I put the unit in a tight space with a right angle cord. Now with the replacement I have been VERY careful with it and it has lasted only a couple months. I am not happy Edited April 13, 2010 by cummins6061 Quote Link to comment
+Styk
Nature of the mini USB, not a robust connector IMHO. Quote Link to comment
