Local Geocaching Organizations in Asia

This topic is to let you know about the regional geocaching organizations near you. The groups listed below organize event caches where geocachers in the same area can get to know each other and share information. Getting involved in your local group is a great way to make new friends and find answers to questions about the local caching scene.

 

It is up to representatives of the organizations to maintain this thread as a list of links to the Geocaching Groups in Asia. Please feel free to write a brief post about your geocaching group, giving its name, the area where most of its members live, and a link to the group's website, forums or mailing list. If your information changes later on, post a follow-up.

 

Please do not use this pinned topic to promote individual events or initiatives that your group is undertaking. You can start separate topics for those. The moderating team may move off-topic posts into their own threads.

 

Please note that this thread is not an endorsement by Groundspeak of any organization. It's just a convenient list of links.

오히려 보는사람입장에서는? 더-좋을텐데....

It should be probably pointed out that this isn't a website for an Okinawa Geocaching group. None exists (as far as I know). Rather, this is a website that is setup as a forum for Geocaching specifically in Okinawa.

 

However, with the high number of Geocaches in Okinawa, would anyone here be interested in starting up an official group with me? I think there should be at least three dedicated cachers that will run the group.

 

Purpose?

 

To monitor caching in Okinawa to ensure that caches aren't placed in restricted areas, areas that would cause further strain in the U.S. Forces - Okinawa relationship, ensure caches are not left behind when cache owners depart the island permanently (archived or adopted), help introduce new cachers to Geocaching in Okinawa (which is different than it is in the States), and to help coordinate and support events.

Ducatinat, there's a Hong Kong Geocaching Facebook Group, come check us out if you haven't joined us yet. Most of the HK geocachers hang out there.
