+the_bell_dingers Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 Does a GC made out of a gutted old laptop sound like a good idea? if this has been done please tell me and give link Quote
+Walkworthy & Wife Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 I've never came across one myself, but it is an innovative idea. I just wonder how you plan on making it blend in with its surroundings? Quote
+5 Caching Campers Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 I suppose it probably depends on how gutted. Keep in mind that many electronic components contain parts that are considered hazardous waste and can be harmful to the groundwater if rainwater gets into the laptop and then runs off into the ground. I'd also imagine that waterproofing it could be an issue. But I suppose that part depends on exactly where it's going to be placed Quote
+doingitoldschool Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 If made safe for the environment and watertight, I'd say that would be very cool. Quote

Quizes Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 The likelyhood of it getting taken would increase because of potential thieves making off with it before they open it. Quote

+Unkle Fester Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 You could pick up a cheap cubicle used on craigs list and hide the laptop in the cube in the woods, imagine the hunter walking along and see's that... Quote
+plumbrokeacres Posted September 9, 2009 Posted September 9, 2009 While not a laptop I have a micro ATX case in the woods called "Micro in the woods" Some have avoided it as they took the name literally. Laptop........ Hmmmmmmmm..... Quote
