Stat Bar on Facebook

What is a GUID ?

It is the link to your profile basically. Yours is this:

http://www.geocaching.com/profile/?guid=5e...14-dfefaf6db8cf

Don't just cut and paste that as is since the forums shorten that up. Right click and use "Copy Link Location" for Firefox or "Copy Shortcut" in Internet Explorer. You can then paste that into the GUID area.

Edited to add some instructions from the discussion area...

1. Logged into geocaching.com

2. Click on "my account"

3. On the right side of the screen, you should see "Account Options" -

Select "View My Stat Bar"

4. There will be a box at the bottom of the screen, containing HTML text -

Highlight all of it, and copy it to the clipboard with CTRL + C

5. Go to the page where you see the GUID box, and do a CTRL + V -

this will pull out the weird number needed ( the one that looks like

818ddfde-b830-4eef-80b8-0ca2f3480ffe) and discards the unneeded HTML

6. Click on any buttons (mostly blue buttons, but I think one was yellow)

to approve the operation and get it posted to your profile.

Yeah LOL. I am one that enjoys the option of being public or private. And have not praise or critique of those that beleive one way or the other. I just want to be able to publicly show my stat page one way or the other. Strip all the links, or whatever out, and just make it raw text. And make it an option so the privacy guys can choose and those that want to share can.
