  1. At least you know when it does get picked up it will be retrieved by a serious cacher not a fly-by-night who will never move it again. Trust me I know, I've lost several.
  2. We always reward our young cacher with ice cream.
  3. Where is this sea cave located? We love ocean side caches!
  4. We do ocean side caches. There is always a cool breeze and you can dip your feet in the freezing cold Atlantic to cool you down.
  5. We have a Cryptex fairly close to our house. The major part of the hike is a bushwack. We found the container twice with no problem (except for ticks) but, we can't get the thing open! All the logs say after looking at it for a few minutes it just came to us. We've spent over an hour between the two trips and have no idea how to open it. It makes one feel pretty stupid!
  6. We just did a 6 mile bushwhack cache here in Massachusetts we used Deep Woods OFF with Deet and it had no effect on the nasty little things. We literally picked off hundreds of them off of each one of us. We typically keep deep woods caching for the winter. I read that they don't like the smell of lavendar so I may pick up some bodyspray and see if that helps. It's going to be a long season here too.
  7. I have one from Florida which I've never cached in. I do believe it's from logging One Flew over the Cuckoo´s Nest.
  8. Thank you for this info! My son isn't a premium member but has found a bunch of PMO caches. We'll have to go back and see if he can log these.
  9. I have the same problem. I just assumed it was something to do with my phone, it's older and has been well loved. I hope someone out there has a rememdy.
  10. We were driving from Massachusetts to Georgia and made an out of the way stop at Luray Caverns. It was well worth it!
  11. I'm fortunate enough to live in New England where the weather varies greatly. We do the deep woods caches in the winter when there are no bugs, poison ivy or people. This year we even got to break out the snow shoes! In the summer we do ocean side caches where there is always a breeze to keep you cool.
  12. Went spent a week in Tybee back in February, it is beautiful down there. You need to check out the Lighthouse. There is a cache there but it isn't anything special but, you can climb the lighthouse. I'm not sure where your from but we are from the North East where there a bunch of lighthouses but they don't let you climb them. Also, check out Bonaventure Cemetery in Savannah.
  13. I don't plan to cache anywhere that has rattlesnakes or alligators.
  14. Has your built in GPS been activated? I have the navigator on my BB and it works great unless I'm in a remote location.
  15. I'm so glad to hear your review of the Otterbox. I also have one for my Blackberry Curve. It is the only thing I use to cache with (using the geo navigator through trimble) unless we are in the mountains and I go back to me etrex. I love being paperless, having the ability to cache wherever and whenever and using the field notes.
